Nearly every time Mount/Glen Waverley is mentioned, it is misspelt.
We have rank names on the top right of screen eg Station Master, Sir Nigel Gresley, Dr Beeching etcI believe Dr Beeching is a custom rank for one particular member only...
Is it possible to change one British name [Dr Beeching] to a more likable Australian one, please? Another British rank is named after Gresley who designed some extremely worthwhile locos etc in his own country and influenced some Australian designs so OK but the worth of that other pom is a very emotional topic and still hotly debated so some here may not like to be ranked with that name. Beeching was about economic changes that had to come and advanced the railways but not everyone sees it that way unfortunately.
I believe Dr Beeching is a custom rank for one particular member only...Reading this post, Dr Beeching isn't a custom ranking.
A few years back we were all offered an opportunity (billed then as a "once-only") to have custom "rank" names/titles/appellations/whatevers; some of us took it up; I was one. That suggestion is very very tempting.......
If you have something in mind Petan - like "Qld Sth Coast Railway Archaeologist" for example - there'd be no harm in asking; the worst you can be told is no.
Reading this post, Dr Beeching isn't a custom ranking.Hmm, possibly not then, although that list was posted by a since banned user...
When you want to change the date format for your profile, you have to know the PHP date() syntax. I was wondering if it would be possible to change this to allow more well-known formats such as DD/MM/YYYY to be used?Nope.
Can we have a 'quick post' page as in Facebook where members could post a quick sighting without having to navigate through a number of sections to get to say 'Miscellaneous Victorian Sightings'. And, this would feed off to the particular thread 'behind the scenes'.
Also, it is frustrating to have to use Flickr to post a photo on Railpage. It would make life a lot easier if one could transfer a photo or document straight from their computer to the thread on Railpage. As per the Help & FAQ article, you don't have to use Flickr to post images on the Forums - you can use any photo hosting site, and there are plenty out there. We don't have the infrastructure in place yet to facilitate hosting our own images for forum posts.
Aghhh, what happened to the forum? I feel like everything just jumped to 640x480! Don't go Windows 8 on us PC users!
I was also asking about the time settings when one logs into the site!
In the preferences section of the person's account with Railpage there is this Jan 27, 2014 7:13 pm that is noted on the top of the person's log in when they hover over the green Railpage link!
Can you please change the time zone from this Tue, 28 Jan 18:16:18 +1100
and this 2014-01-28 18:16:18 to just Jan 30 21:55 or Thu 28/1/14 21:55 for example and cut out the +1100 bit and also cut out the
seconds from the current time?
So instead of it being 18:16:18 for example just have the hour and minute instead like 19:10 or 18:20?
And also can we please just have the time/date of 2014-01-28 to just 28-01-2014 and have it the australian way instead of the american way?
Thanks
You've provided a link but there's no attribution of the source. Most disappointingly, you only reproduced half the article without informing readers that it's incomplete. That could easily give your readers a misleading impression.
I don't mind if Railpage reproduces articles I've written and published on The Urbanist without seeking permission, provided they're reproduced accurately, with attribution, and with a link to the source.
But I'm disappointed these simple courtesies weren't in evidence when you reproduced my article, Is Napthine About To Stuff Up Melbourne's Metro?, on Railpage on 20 Feb.

I've written directly but since there's been no response I'm hoping the administrator will see my message on the Forum and make the appropriate correction.
