As a start I will nominate the electric hand dryer (with the single exception of the Dyson models).
No doubt there are heaps of other products and inventions.
When I was a child there was a strange fad for electric can openers, everybody my family knew had one, despite two facts:
* They didn't eat much tinned food anyway.
* They were more awkward to use and much harder to clean than manual can openers.
Needless to say, you never see the things in shops or homes these days.
That reminds me of the video rewinders, and incidentally, double audio cassette machines and CD stackers.
