Thanks for digging that up TinHare2. I've had computers lose their marbles on me a couple of times over the years and thought it was gone forever!
Turns out the installer has the source code for it in there too, but it's for a now very-outdated compiler (Rapid-Q). It seems to run fine on Windows 7 but some things will be busted on a modern operating system because of their improved security, such as if it tries writing files into the program folder as you mention above.
A new version would probably be a rewrite either for Java or .NET to be compatible with a modern operating system, probably the former similar to DVA 5.
