Someone's going to be disappointed when they open the box and there's lots of little pieces that they have to put together and paint.

It does say "as new in box"...

$1300 with 30 minutes to go!

Paul

Update: Finished at $1325.00

Update 2: Another seller listed an identical kit the very next day. I contacted him and he even said he had 'stolen' (his words) the photo from the previous listing and had dug it out of his to-do cupboard because the other one had gone for so much.

Alas, no prizes for second and this one finished tonight for 'only' $661.

Seller mustn't have been happy and I suspect the buyer from a week ago would be spewing that he paid twice as much as the one this week...

That must be a contender for the worlds most expensive kit.

I've seen a BGM N-class kit go for that sort of money. If they are no longer in production (unless SEM gets a minimum of 20 orders to do another run) then you cannot be too choosy about the price I guess.

This is a stunning loco but I think its going to set a new record for an Auscision 422 sale!!!

How much is a really professional paint job worth? I would imagine anything north of $150 is reasonable. What do others think as I have a few brass locos that I want painted. The paint job in this instance is excellent.

That's a factory paint job, it probably cost about $8. It's 'professionally' weathered...

You cannot buy a aboriginal  NR - so it is a custom paint job and rare. how good it is , no idea. is it worth anout $1760 more, a buyer can determine that.

The last time I set foot inside Berg's Hobbies would have to have been at least six or seven years ago and I couldn't believe the prices they were asking then. All these years later, the exact same models are still for sale for even higher prices on EBay. You'd think they would have figured out by now that after a model has sat on a shelf for over five years without a buyer, well, then they might be asking a bit much for it? You'd think so anyway.

OK, well....just saw this on eBay when searching in model trains.  Can't guarantee that it is HO, but then it is a bit terse in the description, and the asking price is eye-watering.  AND this is a 100% feedback seller...????

Clearly I shouldn't have posted this in models, these prices must be for real 1:1 locomotives - almost makes Bergs look reasonable Smile

Clearly the "dot" should be a few places to the left!! Can't be for real.

His past listings have been rational: I suspect a number board problem.
