If there's one thing I hate it's intolerant knobs. Throwing pigs at mosques is stupid.

I suppose that the same people would throw pigs at synagogues, except that anti-Semitism was made unpopular in the 30s and 40s by a foreign government.

Pork is also forbidden (Haram) for Muslims.  And for Seventh Day Adventists too.

As for the incident in Perth- Juvenile, stupid and un-Australian.  If you going to make a statement criticizing Islam (which we have a right to do), use intelligent words and not spiteful displays of hate.

I think you're asking a bit much. Anyone who would something this stupid would have difficulty in finding any intelligent words within his own vocabulary.

Apparently something similar has happened at at least two other mosques elsewhere in Australia in the last few years. Luckily it hasn't led to much trouble, unlike the publication of certain cartoons or release of films. Perhaps the media is making more noise about it than anyone else. While the apparent intent behind throwing a pig on the grounds of a mosque might offend some Muslims (e.g. the message of "you're not welcome here"), the act in itself does not render that place unholy or impure, nor does it send any constructive message.

I'm sorry to say it, but I expect this stuff to continue. If the experience in Europe is any guide, the political demands of Muslims will intensify as their population grows, which will add fuel to the fire of "haters". This is not helped by the general image of Islam which media reports of the last decade have helped to create, rightly or wrongly. Differences in world view can easily become the basis of manipulation, as those who like to divide and conquer would know. When people express their opinions, I hope they are pulling their own strings and not having their passions stirred up for them. This applies to both sides.

Same thing happened in Newcastle only last weekend ,  the weekend  before they held a open day which was well accepted by the local population . Most Muslims that I have known or associated with in the  last 65 years have been pretty good people & being branded by a the actions of a few idiots within their community who want to play war games  & think they will win.

Since moving to the Middle East for work I have taken a different view of Muslims and Islam in general. Yes, that bad element exists and more vocal and obvious than other religions and also the leaders of both middle east political and religious are rarely very vocal in denoucing extremists, the most outspoken so far being Queen Rania of Jordan. This needs to change. I also find many of their practices basically old, but when I remind myself 40 years ago these guys were still chasing camels in a varst empty and harse desert you can sort of see why.

However with education and income, things change and especially for those travellin OS for university things are changing and changing fast. The changes in Saudi, starting from a very low base are huge in a very short space of time, but a long way to go. The jet fighters from the UAE going to hit ISIS have female national pilots. Can Australia match the same? However the women had to wait until 30 before they could fly due to some rule. How many fighter pilots over 30 does Australia even have?

A friend at work arrived from UK 4 years ago. He was broke as you need to pay 12mths rent upfront in one cheque and needed to pay school fees, 10,000UK pounds. The company helps you out, but this takes time. He was pondering what to do and mentioned to his new collegeues at work his situation and asked how he could get a short term loan. The next day, a local who had known my friend one week and with less than two weeks in the country dropped the equivalent of 10,000pounds in cash in his hand and said pay me back when you can.  When he did he refused interst or any sort of thankyou other than thankyou, thats a true Muslim.

I went for a job interview in Bahrain, the HR Manager said she sends her kids to the local christian school for a better education, like my kids in Dubai, they don't go to religious class (in our case Islamic studies), rather they learn another language. They don't force religion onto expats and vice versa.

Many forget most people in ME are just trying to survive and get on with their lives. They are victims just as much as westerners, maybe more so as they cannot leave or have their country try and rescue them should things go bad.

Seriously, I think it will take another 25-50 years to sort this stuff out. It goes back too far, too embedded in the culture and the countries too underdeveloped.

Simply my catch all for intolerant, xenophobic, anti-asian, anti-semitic, anti-muslim, anti-migrant, anti-coloured, racist, bigoted, homophobic, ignorant, self-centred, mean-spirited, and/or greedy (and so on) people.

Given your own caring, sharing posts, should you have an issue with that?

Anyway it is the same libtard pricks that let the Muslims in under Howard that are now demonizing them to justify their BS wars with NWO master USA.

Muslims have lived in Australia for decades and generally peacefully, probably more so than others. What has changed is more extremists have moved here (as everywhere else) and with internet they are encouraging others through their non Islamic ideology. (they are not Muslims as many of their actions are out of line with the Quaran)

Howard if anything started the "if you don't like to look at a woman in a bikini, F-off" stance and now the LNP are turning boats away.

Some of the people cutting heads off and posting on U-tube were not even born in the middle east so don't blame them.

You do realise that Muslims have been living in this country since the late 19th century, without them it would of taken a hell of a lot longer to open up the interior of this country. I don't understand how you think there is an issue in this country with muslims, some cause trouble but you can say that with any "race" of people, do you think we should get rid of the italian community due to mafia links? Those of english heritage have caused absolute havoc in this country so I guess we can blame the indigenous of this country for letting "those" people in. If we want to take it onto a world stage then you can cherry pick examples of people committing atrocities across the globe, yes it is sickening what some are doing in the name of Islam but we can say that about any religion or belief.
