If this keeps up, we'll be waiting for the HO 40 class to be produced for a longer period of time than the 1:1 scale version was actually in revenue service!!! hahaha

The latest Eureka Times is now on site, some interesting reading re change of factories and product delivery dates.

http://eurekamodels.com.au/eurekatimes/eureka_times_29-1october2014.pdf

At least there is some news on the 40 Class, not great news, but something, hopefully the new date will be something close to reality.

The 40 Class:
The 40 class is one of the four remaining what I call legacy projects. That is they are a
legacy of Eureka’s involvement with Sanda Kan. The tooling is still with Sanda Kan and the
project is at the artwork stage with painted, running samples (with sound) having been
supplied to and approved by Eureka several years ago. Everything has then come to a halt
and with all the problems at Sanda Kan no progress on the project has occurred in over a
year.
As part of the process discussed above a new manufacturer has been in contact with
Eureka and after satisfying ourselves of the capabilities of this manufacturer, it has been
decided to move the project from Sanda Kan to this new manufacturer. This process is
being organized at the moment and we have a target delivery date of March, 2015. More
details as the process progresses.

LCH/CCH/RSH have arrived. http://eurekamodels.blogspot.com.au/

I think that makes the LCH/CCH/RSH project about a year late. It is interesting to note that Eureka managed only one release in 2014 (if one counts the long delayed R class as 2013 even though it seems the delivery ran into 2014.

I am still waiting for my VR E wagons which have been continually delayed...I am sure others are also waiting and waiting.

I think its a fair bit longer than being just a year late for the LCH/CCH/RSH.  How long for many other models on the list?

There are more pictures of ships than arriving models on the blog update.
My SAR 'O' wagons were ordered 38 months ago, first promised delivery was for February 2012.
And I have no faith in the latest delivery date, I see they don't offer excuses anymore.

PS Now that I think about it, it may even be 4 years ago, I have lost interest in counting.

I recall asking Ron and was assured that the problems had been sorted out and that the E/O/S were being done at the new factory ...etc. The Tank Wagons - the TW's, based on the same underframes, turned up but not the rest for some reason have not materialised. Meanwhile the immanent arrival of the model presumably has prevented someone like SDS or OTM from producing it.

They mention "G" wagon in 2 pack for $110.00, but I can't find anywhere to order them, an email has gone unanswered, c'mon Eureka, lift your game, if they aren't available, delete that option, if they are, where's the order form, it can't be that hard!

I agree. Noticed the lack of any order forms a couple of months ago when then he announced the G wagons had arrived. Pretty poor form. Ended up picking up 2 packs of NOGXs from Barnes. The blog says they are available from the Eureka office so I can only suggest you ring them.

Railpage ate my synopsis, it went something along the lines...

Eureka are now using 3 factories for models, still in the process of getting old tooling from Sanda Kan.
No new freight wagon projects beyond those already announced, focus will be locos and passenger rollingstock.
Various project eta's updated, many items expected to arrive this year. 50's currently being assembled. A DERM expected to arrive in 2016

Thanks PJ,

That coincides with what RC told me at Kaleen.  I asked if the 40 class tooling had been extracted from the 'old' factory.  Answer went something like 'Not yet, but it is underway'.

I hope Eureka has enough capital to pay the ransom required to liberate the tooling.....

Otherwise - more delays.....

Happy dreaming,

John

I talk to Ron every time I see him (as the information coming out of Eureka is sparse). I ask "where are the E wagons?" and I get some sort of response like they "were at the old factors and are now at the new", "they are due in the next few months" ...etc.

I asked about the E wagon and apparently it is on it's way to a different factory than the one that did the tankers (and R class).

Well Ron certainly traded product for dollars at Hobsons Bay.
He had a good supply of cloth shopping bags from AMRA Liverpool 2013 and everybody seemed to be carrying out green boxes. I believe he may have sold a dozen R Class's and lots of models were out of stock by Monday. Never saw a more genuine smile on Ron's face ever Very Happy

Has anybody got a copy of the news letter put out by Eureka at the show that can be scanned. No copy has been put on Eureka's website and I would like to know if any news has been put out about the DEB sets.
