Just as well I got my buffers for my Z van!

Well, mine arrived yesterday, & some interesting stuff in it.

The starting point is Ian Dunn's editorial comment & then his review of the TOR 48cl.

The editorial comment is not going to be liked by many in model world as it hits the nail on the head as to what can be expected from Chinese or imported models in the future in regards to prices paid.  The world of cheap prices especially for locomotives in the sub $300.00 is very much a thing of the past, expect according to Ian $350.00 as the starting point for diesels, a shade higher than my predictions of $345.00.

The 48cl review tells a different story to what many might think.  Interestingly though is a small bit of news from TOR, that they intend still producing some previously known models on their "to do" list despite competitors already announcing their intents, interesting!

No news on the 40cl from Eureka though.  Hope the tooling has not rusted I guess.

For those wondering what has happened to the digital version of AMRM, so are we...

We are in correspondence with Zinio to sort out the holdup.

It'll be available soon (we hope!)

Another great issue,

Wow !? I cannot wait to get the new Arnotts Van being released early next month....

I might get one in each of the scales offered, more so the 5" scale version! ......

Looking forward to other models from this new entrant in the scene.

Yes, they do have an interesting program. I understand the the roof is removable on the 5" version and the interior is lined and fitted with vertical shelves for biscuit storage; just the thing for snacks during those long running days...

I believe they intend to release one product a year, always on the first day of April... can't wait till next year to find out what will be next...

Got mine yesterday. Always a good read.

A really good read this addition in particular David Foulkes Z van buffers and the cattle wagons with a raised roof to accommodate Worths Circus Elephants. A letter to the Editor saying Todays trains are boring and not like some time back! Todays trains are just as exciting as yesterdays except the wagons and Locomotives are different as they will be in fifty years time. Everything progresses and evolves as traffic demands vary.

Can anyone tell me what biscuits are included in the models? Are they Tim Tams or Iced Vo Vo's?  If they are Tim Tam's does someone know how to stop them melting under the downlights?

Why aren't they being offered in 12" to the foot scale.  I hear this scale is very prototypical.

But regardless I do need to speak with James. Don't like doing my local newsagent out of the sale, but I want to get the "on line" version as well as the hard version, and that means it is uneconomical to keep buying the newsagents copy.

Nah, I don't want the Arnotts van as it never ran on broad gauge, could've run on some of Queensland's narrow gauge though.
