    But new loco arrivals is like a kid being turned loose in the Beechworth lolly shop for half an hour, without Mum Very Happy
    Its been too long since Auscision has tempted me. Must have been the Red Ghan AN? which I wont run, just sit on the shelf.
    Just ordered the P Class sound decoders, so a couple more days wont hurt, in reality.

    All paid BRM P Class Locomotives have been posted out. You should expect them in the mail in the next few days. If you don't receive your order by next Monday please contact us.

    Have to agree, & while I am not a Victorian modeller was not going to comment, they actually remind me a lot like how Auscisions original models had over size hand rails on both loco's & wagons, but over the years they have really improved on them, making it possible that these could be from another factory not the main one.

    Got my sound modules this morning (Thanks Mike!), but models were not at Post Office today.
    This has got to be the longest wait ever from Auscision Wink   They are usually the fastest deliveries of them all. Maybe they tested  the Eureka Mailing system this time? Ha! Ha! Very Happy

    edit Have no problem with the hand rails Same as the Flat top as far as I can see?  Just blue against blue does not hit you in the face like white on orange Two pics from BRM page illustrate the point, I would think.

    In reality these white rails quickly got grubby and the surfaces facing direction of travel (both ways Wink ) became darkened with what I remember a dark brown shade Weathering that way will quickly reduce the white in your face look Very Happy

    My Posty finally had the parcel I was waiting for, and I have started to fit sound to my two P Class.
    Extremely happy with the way they look too. (mine are as released same as the pictures already posted)

    The handrails look much better than the pictures indicate I guess the pictures are pretty big on modern monitors and some got confused by bigger than life photos?
    The fireman side steps were broken off both models, loose in the plastic wrapping. Not sure how they fix back on, but worry about it when I get the sound in.

    Although the same motor and frame were used (I suspect) the speaker cut away appears to be slightly bigger diameter allowing the speaker to fall through (The earlier T Class speaker mount was a tight fit, making installation easier)

    What I did was sit the speaker face first into the hole, and glued it to the edges that it sat on, making sure it was clear of tail shaft and sitting flat
    When it dried I sealed the large gaps with Krystal Clear and then glued a very thin sheet of styrene over the back to seal the speaker. I will glue a patch over the gap at the top. Looks like Mike from DCC sounds used tape to seal the back of the speaker. Am happy with the sound levels and will retrofit all my flat tops to gain the same volume improvement.

    New releases have been a long time coming (as I did not want any of Auscisions NSW product or the Electrics)
    Love my P Class's  Very Happy  Only need the 3 X's now, hopefully before Liverpool.

    I am very happy with my Traino S Classes thank you. And will happily wait for their rerun. Auscision now have a problem don't they? Do they use the incorrect B and A Class nose or the correct one? (Let the games begin Very Happy )

    Wonder what the colour scheme is pointing to?  The front is sort of an SSR reverse colour, while the rear half very much a copy of the Qube schemew, is there are merger coming out there in the real world of model railways?

    Got a feeling that SSR might have prepared a special display for the "streamliners event" at Goulburn this year??
    I think its a real loco paint and have seen pictures elsewhere.
    It is good use of an event that should attract attention world wide. If that is the case, well done SSR

    But from Auscision only if they will not force me into expensive sound fitted models!!!
    I must not have two AN green/gold as well as two GWA orange/black GMs and all with sound.

    In that case my only hope is that TrainOrama wakes up soon and also does modern versions. They should also look fine and are cheaper at least when having NO sound. And I still hope for a dummy...

    I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a dummy.  Does any manufacturer around the world sell dummies?  I wonder why - maybe because there is minimal difference in cost.

    Traino did dummy's of 44, 47 and possibly 49's for $150 but I'm guessing that this wasn't a planned marketing tactic, ie- due to quality control issues

    Proof may be if they do the same when they re-release these models

    I guess the question is, how fewer components are there in a dummy? The exploded diagram would probably answer this

    I know that a dummy is not a hugh saving but compared to a sound fitted loco it could be remarkable:
    - you don't need any current pickup which is wheel contacts and wiring
    - no motor, no gearwheels, no cardan axle, no worm gear, no flywheel
    - no PCBs, LEDs, electronics and related wiring (that's the biggest saving)
    That's it but testing and repairing may also need some time.

    Maybe TrainOrama does any again but I don't expect that. Let me have some dreams...

    To quote a classic aussie movie "tell him he's dreamin".There is no way a manufacturer would bother with dummy locos, as others have said savings are minimal.The main costs of a model are the tooling of the body and labour for assembly so parts like motors ect don't add that much cost.Why would they bother when they can only sell for 50% value.Most just sell defective models at shows cheaper and if you like you can make them a dummy.
    Seeing as Auscision looks like maybe doing S class my guess would be they would also do 42/GM class as they seem to like to do lots of variants in their models.

    I suspect they may even do the correct S317 nose profile, which in turn is different from the rest.

    S317 was built with the standard nose.

    It was rebuilt after a serious accident and the guys did their best to put it back as it was but it ended up looking a bit odd.

    I'm happy with my blue and gold S from Trainorama (and still waiting for a red and silver GM-1 class)...

    But you should have the odd nose on S 317 for all colour schemes after blue and gold if you care that much.

    I'd prefer they did something else.

    How about T347 to T356? Although every other T class has been done, those ten units weren't made by any of the three companies who've made T class so far... T356 is still around....
