    Sydney Daily Telegraph p02 says that Asciano is to build a $100m rail freight terminal at St Marys.

    There will be shuttles to Port Botany.

    Asciano owns Patricks, the port operator.

    The St Marys hub will occupy 43 hectare.

    I imagine they will use the lead in to the old Rope Creek line?

    Location: At the end of a loop
    Trackwork was noted being undertaken this afternoon on the former Ropes Creek Branch at St Marys, not so much for the proposed terminal but more for WH+S for train crews changing ends and sleeper replacement etc. for the current operations of the PN Rooty Hill Gravel train which I understand uses the former Ropes Creek Branch to change direction in order to access the terminal at Rooty Hill.
