Shrike Models

Right I am just going to come out and say something I have been pondering for quite some time.

Lindsay, is the mysterious 'third party' a part of Ixion?

If Shrike didn't intend for the 'third party' to honour Shrike's customer base and existing orders why did Shrike forward their client's details with the tooling?

Ixion in response to a comment on their Facebook page on February 16 have denied this.

That would make it hard for shrike to do refunds to its customers if he does not have the books .

The more the mystery of the owner of the tooling makes me think that it could be anyone at Ixion models .

But yet again the owner of the tooling could be any family member from Ixion or Shrike .

It could be  bit like how the rich when they are in trouble money wise they start to change assets etc into different business names or family .

Until people know who owns the tooling this talk well keep happening to find out if any funny business has happen behind the scenes .

It also makes me think if there was funny business at the factory when it comes to 3OT . It was meant to be produced before the 32 class then things change around so the 30T would follow the 32 class .

Or if it was Geoff hope just got ripped off with the tooling cost or the new owner of the tooling went against the deal with Geoff hope which now leaves Shrike customers in a fix .

Hopefully the truth will come out in time of what happened behind the scenes .

It'd be easy if they made a copy of the information. Very easy to do in this age of fancy computers.  One would expect Shrike to have retained all the original records as they would be required for tax and company record keeping compliance purposes.

The C30T was meant to be in production multiple times over the last year. It's not uncommon for production schedules to change when there's an issue with a product. Those issues can be technical, financial or 'other'.

Question for BIG BEAR ....a bit off topic, but it's been bugging the beejesus out of me:

Why is it that when you refer to Geoff Hope, you always manage to get an upper case "G" for his first name, but then seem to have great difficulty finding the "shift" key to be able to put a capital "H" for his surname???

So you always end up writing "Geoff hope".

It's got me really intrigued!!!!

I am just a middle age old fart who failed English and does not care how to write things to impress other people .

I had no interest in reading novels and writing essays  . But I did pass maths and woodwork and metal work and to stop people from being ripped off

There is no hidden messages or meanings on my part by using big letters or not

To answer Poath junction .

The way shrike models took orders was a bit different than others company's which operate day .

Shrike's way was send money by bank deposit then send a email to pick the model that you wanted .

Instead off a order form picking your model then filling in the details off payment .

So I think there  could be a bit confusion of who's paid what and for what  .

Ixion models did come up with their own word regarding understanding the pre orders that is why they have asked to see bank statements .

To see things in another way I will focus on Geoff hopes post on the shrike models face book page .

Company now saved and now  to focus on the Rx class .

What was behind that post . Something to think about

Option 1 -  Geoff hope was on the go go juice or is a bad business man thinking he could walk away from the 30T project and continue with the Rx class project like nothing had happen .

OR

Option 2 - Geoff hope sold the tooling thinking that with the deal ( contract ) with his customers would be looked after at no extra cost .

Time will tell where the truth is and where the customers money is .

If I can add something to small h hope thing, sometimes I might be guilty of that too. My phone will auto capital Geoff, because it knows it's a proper noun, hope can also be a verb, hence it will remain small h unless I think to adjust it.

This advice from Robert Kirby might help the South Australian customers with a refund  .

copied from Shrike face book page

Robert Kirby - In SA it is Consumer and Business Services. They have been contacted and the issue of non refunds has been recorded by them.

It's not the tyre kickers who will be a problem - it's the head kickers.

Can anybody confirm if Shrike is actually a company or just a registered business name. It can make a great deal of difference in recovering deposit monies.

It goes to what sort of entity Shrike is and the liability of the proprietors.

The ASIC website says it is an Australian Propriety Company limited by shares.

You missed the sarcasm in my reply. When a person expends more effort to ask on Railpage what type of entity Shrike is rather than typing it into google you're not going to want to rely on their legal advice. A registered business name has no bearing on the liabilities of a business. "Shrike Models Pty Ltd" tells you everything of relevance without needing to do a single ABR or ACN lookup (ok, granted it doesn't confirm if the business was ever registered, but the one bit of good news is it was registered and  this isn't another AussieHO scenario)

To follow on from comments by Poath Junction,

What happens if on or about the 19th March ASIC go ahead and de-registers the company? He obviously cannot continue trading under that name.

Perhaps the person who first found it unregistered, should check for any update?  From my reading, it appeared the termination of  registration was acted on because Shrike was already 12 months behind in fees? I was told elsewhere that that was fixed in January before the do do hit the fan.

To clarify, Shrike has NEVER been deregistered. All that has happened to date is ASIC has noted it might deregister the company if the issue of concern to it (failure to pay annual company registration review fee) wasn't addressed. At the time the notice was issued Shrike had an overdue fee to pay. As long as the fee gets paid within the 2 month timeframe then that's the end of it. There is never a notice released by ASIC to say the fee has been paid, if a forced deregistration under s601AB doesn't occur then you know the fee was paid.

Anyone been able to contact Shrike?

Phone either unavailable or unanswered, emails not replied.

I have been trying since 18 November 2015 without success. Back in December 2015, I did get a reply from someone who signed off the email as "Michael Hope (oldest son)" but nothing since then. Also nothing at all from Geoff Hope himself. Why the wall of silence?

All I want is an acknowledgement of my request for a refund and the refund itself. Not too much to ask.
