Looking for a couple of sheets of ink jet transparency. I've got some larger windows to fit to a couple of building projects and thought this might be a way to get a good result. A whole pack is very expensive as overhead projectors are probably going the way of the do-do (the local TAFE was probably the last stonghold!).
Thanks. PM me if you can help (I am in SA)

Edit: Piston has kindly offered to help. Thanks Piston.

I do the same.  Print the window frames or whatever on them.  The "transparencies" that are a little rough on one side (The side you print on), and the white band at the top?  Officeworks won't break a packet ~$60.  However I found a smaller office supplies shop (Dolphin Office Choice) that does sell by the sheet.  Don't use the "overhead foils" that you put in a laser printer, on an inkjet printer.  The ink does not dry.
Oh, on an inkjet, you cannot print white, of course.

Something to consider also is Laser or old O/H projector skins.   I used it on some of my models, & purchased a couple of sheets from a newsagent.  Sometimes it also works out cheaper to buy a pack then just a single or two sheets though.

O/H transparency sheets are also a bit thicker & stronger owing to the need to be heat resistant.

Would anyone have any spare parts to suit a Southern Rail U boat at all? I need the clip that holds the worm drive in position
  gunzel42 Locomotive Fireman

Looking for a transformer to suit a Morley controller - the details on it suggest it is 240vAc to 12vAC x 2 1 amp transformer.  The Australian supplier can't supply spares, so looking to see if I can source from somewhere else to repair a controller for a mate.

Cheers

I am chasing 3 packs of Auscisions CQBY wagons, packs 4-6, CFCLA blue.  I would also consider packs 1-3, CFCLA green.  I am modelling QR east coast intermodal, my LDPs need some variety to haul behind them.

cheers

How does one tell the difference between runs?  Say between first and second and...subsequent?

Gremlin
It might be open frame "Pitman" type motors such as in the Dockyard 38 which might have been upgraded to can motors in a second run? This did happen in second run R Class and Dockyard and Bergs operated together in competition in those early years

Thanks for that...all mine must be first run then as they have the open motors...

Hi Gremlin,

There are a couple of stand out features.

The second run model has the third cylinder crank, rod and cylinder modelled between the frames (first run does not), a firebox/boiler back head (motor does not sit in cab), window frames in side windows, better shaped cab roof profile and a pivoting fall plate (first run is fixed).

I sold my first run 57 a while ago so can't remember if it was Korean built or not, may have been Japanese (1st run comes in the darker, smaller bergs box) the second run is Korean built)). My first run had no brake shoes or rigging (I had to build and add) and I don't think it had a hole all the way through the the chimney. I can't remember if the third cylinder valve conjugating beam worked on the first run or not?

There are a few other differences but as I said, I don't have my 1st run to compare against anymore.

Almost thought you had one for sale!

Thanks,

Linton

I think mine must be a first run, and what's even better, having checked it....its a D59 Smile  Oops...
