What are your thoughts on this? Do you guys think that it'd better to duplicate & electrify all the way to Stony Point, rather than just stopping at Baxter?

Just very recently, Federal Labor has promised to kick in $1.5 million for a business case on the full duplication and electrification of the rail line to Baxter: click here for the full articleI think it makes sense to plan ahead whether it is only to Baxter or to Stony Point. . At least there would then be a plan ready to go if funds became available.

I'd hardly call the tracks at Somerville a yard anymore, all of the old signalling was ripped up when the signals were upgraded between Frankston - Stony Point in 2007. Somerville would be a better terminus for duplication given its population and to make use of the yard that exists.
