Mount Lofty Railcam - Photo Thread

    Kicking off the content thread for Mount Lofty.  We are starting to get some good pics and video coming through from the hills to Railcam Centre here.

    I have just uploaded 5MA1 which was captured through mount lofty station this morning.

    This was then followed by the Overland heading to Melbourne and then we had 3PM6 also through eastbound at 09:51 CST.  This train had NR103-AN3-8240-DL50 on the front.

    Some overnight action as we continue to tune the camera installation.

    SCT 5PM9 Goods from Perth to Melbourne was recorded as a night train via the hills.

    SCT Perth bound came past the cameras earlier today with containers attached behind the refrigerated vans but is this a normal consist for this train with containers ?

    Are the containers attached at Laverton or somewhere else on the way ?

    Containers are normally found on most SCT Perth services and most likely would have originated at Laverton.

    Entered the middle road from the west and parked up.  Also note the first cross last evening with the MX2 in the loop and the AK9 to Dooen on the platform road minutes later.

    The loop at Mount Lofty was in use this morning as 5MA5 was put away to allow the Overland 6AM8 to pass. Both the MA5 and MP9 (SCT) had issues in the hills and additional helpers needed to be added.

    The last time an AN had been put on the front & lead on the south line would've been 5th November 2013 when AN3 was on the front of 1WX2.

    A mate told me 5MA5 had failed between Petwood & Nairne, which resulted in that SCT helping it to Mount Barker Junction (detatched there), where an NR & AN had run light from Adelaide to bring MA5 in, & SCT015 had helped 5MP9 which also had problems.

    Finally got to tag a non PN, Aurizon, Qube, SCT train on Railpage for rail cams!   Felt great!

    GWA now appearing in the database!

    2182 UP GWA grain is on its way back to the mountains with GWA009 on the lead.  Should cross 2AM8 at Monato South. 2PM6 is now climbing from the west so not sure where 2182 will cross the 6PM6 (probably Mount Baker).

    2182 has stopped near Vardun and has been thee for a while.  No certainty but I think international rescue has been called and assist the train into the mountains.  We can only hope for a CLF EMD rescue!
