Must admit, it would be nice to shop in person but I guess my hobby shop in Bendigo is pretty damn good. Best we have had in Victoria for many years.

Well, the worst kept secret comment seems a bit far fetched IMHO for two reasons;
a) Auscision had advertised some time back with "Do you C what I C" or similar (despite the subtlety of it ), and
b) one of the Auscision parties is a director of SSR. Since no one (legally) can market a product using another's business logo etc without the relevant permission, odds are that SSR will only ever be granting permission to use their logo on one companies RTR models. So from this perspective, Auscision doing the C class is just a no brainer, as with them re doing other mobs loco's that now happen to wear SSR livery.

The C class will be a very worth upgrade.

"One wonders will there be an australianmodellersmelbourne store opening". Yeah well what about the shops in Melbourne that have been supporting modelers for decades such as Branchline and Buffer Stop I am sure they would enjoy an Auscision shop in Melbourne.

Will be interesting to see whether AM on-line will offer sample/seconds/ex-warranty models to those of us unable to attend the east coast exhibition snake pit circuit

I have noted that suppliers of other model forms do offer sale of NQR products under caveat emptor terms

IMHO don't think that will happen.
They are exhibition specials which are damaged/returns with no warranty.
They make a quick and easy sale at exhibition for them. Why would they bother with all the extra work of phone calls/emails/postage etc for items of lower value and compromised quality. They don't seem to have too much difficulty getting rid of those items at an exhibition.
If an enterprise has a sale in store and because I live too far away or I'm working and can not take advantage of that sale that's not that enterprises problem or fault.

Harsh prognosis. Such companies receive our unquestioning custom and patience year in, year out

Its an on-line retailer, I really don't think it would be that difficult a task to attach to core business ops

In regards to item b) this may not always be the case....

Rights to reproduce the livery on those models was acquired by Trainorama long long ago, remember SSR GM's were originally meant to be in the first Trainorama run. I won't ruin the surprise by saying any more.

Poath Junction
Exactly. The original Traino run of the S was in 2007. They'd sought permission then, and it clearly didnt expire when they didnt end up doing the SSR GM then. Like Poath said, a long long time ago.

Which is exactly why the odds still are what they are on anyone else now getting permission to do the SSR livery.

Auscision have just announced via facebook that they have an unannounced model for release at next weekends Caulfield exhibition. Which would now technically be an announced but unspecified model.

Yes,

But how will you know if it is the announced 'unannounced' model or just an unannounced 'unannounced' model?

Happy tautologying,
