I don't seem to know what is currently happening to sector 3 Tangaras. Some questions: (sorry if I appear to not know much)
1. Where do these trains run? (I only see Waratahs on sector 3)
2. Did they ever run on sector 1?
3. Is the Tangara Technology Upgrade undergoing on them?

T sets are exulsive to sector 1, if a T set is on sector 3 it is a spare set or an additional service (i.e) Olympic Park service.

Currently, the Timetable calls for the following T set Rosters:-
Sector 1:  28 x 8T sets provided by Mortdale Maintenance Centre
Sector 2:  No sets required
Sector 3:  16 x 8T sets provided by Hornsby Maintenance Centre
Also, 2 x 4T set Rosters operate the South Coast Local services between Waterfall and Port Kembla. These sets are provided by Mortdale Maintenance Centre.

Red Targeted sets allocated to Mortdale Maintenance Centre are as follows:-
T1 through to T54 = 54 x 4car sets
T100 through to T110 = 11 x 4car sets (ex G sets)

Black Targeted sets allocated to Hornsby Maintenance Centre are as follows:-
T57 through to T65, T67 through to T81, T83, T86, T88 through to T99 = 38 x 4car sets
T121, T122, T125 through to T130 = 8 x 4car sets (ex G sets)

To accommodate the Tangara Upgrade program, Red and Black Targeted T sets have been running on both Sectors 1 and 3.

In comparison, the Timetable calls for the following Waratah A set Rosters:-
Sector 3: 42 x 8A sets
Sector 2: 30 x 8A sets

99 through 115 run (I think) are rostered Tangaras on Sector 3.

Tangara Sector 3 Runs:  99, 100, 101, 104 through to 111, 113, 115, 116, 118, and a "Stand by" Run 123.

Tangara Sector 1 Runs:  600 through to 627.
The 2 x 4T sets that operate on the South Coast are Runs R41A and R41B.

To further assist Tangara sets undergoing the Upgrade Program, other than the conditional Exchange Car Runs working between Mortdale and Hornsby Maintenance Centres, some Runs, during the Weekdays, allow changeover of sets between Sectors 1 and 3 as follows:-
Monday to Thursday, Run 123 Stables at Mortdale MC, and Run 608 Stables at Hornsby MC.
Monday to Friday, Run 613 Stables at Hornsby MC, and Run 620 Starts from Hornsby MC.

Is there any way to access the timetable that says this service is this set? Of course, apps like TripView tell you but it would be interesting to see it in timetable form.

Thank you. Couldn't be arsed finding my copy of the WTT to look it up.

Ahhh Tripview only tells you what it's *timetabled* to be. Not what it *will* be.

Only T sets and h sets service sector 1. Very rarely you might get an S set. T sets also service sector 2 and 3, although extremely rare on sector 2 and normally only a replacement if no S sets are available. Sector 2 is normally run with everything else bar a T set. Sector 3 has many T set services.

Isn't there a 8T on standby at Everleigh MC during the off-peak? I got a T set on Thursday afternoon on the 1535 ex-Museum, normally timetabled to be 8K. It was a half Mortdale/Hornsby set.

"Stand by" Run 123, is on "Stand by" at Eveleigh from 0430 hours until 1455 hours, each weekday, then moves to Mortdale MC where it is again on "Stand by" from 1600 hours until 2000 hours.
