A great example of how bogus ideology in the form toll roads from Turnbull takes no account of the changing wants and needs of Australian's  we do not need more toll roads which deliver nothing but dividends to the investors ahead of the environment.

We (as votors) are constantly complaining about our pollies with their pork barrelling and favouring their own electorates with big projects. So we set up bipartisan independent bodies like Infrastructure Australia and the Fair Work Commission to take the decision making out of the politicians hands.

Now the Labour opposition seems to have decided (for blatant electioneering reasons) that it doesn't like the decisions of said umpires and so is going to change a bunch of their decisions.

No wonder this country never gets anywhere. More short term thinking for political gain at the expense of the Nation's future.

Umm.. What are you talking about?  Or Mr Turnbull for that matter.

When asked about the business plan for the link it took an age of freedom of information claims to find out there actually was not one.  The federal government spent a few million trying to block the main claim even.  all to hid the fact nobody had done any home work.  Government or Infrastructure Australia.

Surely it's ok to can something, independent lobby group, umpires or otherwise, if the planning is non-existent?

There's a pretty good summary of the Roe 8 part of the PFL here.

There are a bunch of road improvements but additionally $1.2b (across state and federal as I understand it) has been earmarked for Metronet, including $700m of federal money for the Yanchep and Thornlie-Cockburn extensions subject to business case assessment.
