Who for?  If not SSR it might need new paint no?

The two 'Freightliner' liveried GLs owned by CFCLA have recently had the FL logos removed and replaced with CF logos, but have kept the same colours.

I agree, you don't need to repaint a loco to show its not working for someone, but in this case, SSR operates a lot of Cs (albeit in a motley crew of colours too), and if this one goes elsewhere, having an SSR painted loco up front is going to confuse all but the gunzels!

I guess there is precendent though, the QUBE G class still runs around in SCT colours sans the SCT logo.  There is other precedent like PNs Freight Austrlia liveried locos, though Freight Australia is no longer operating unlike SSR and SCT.
  M636C Minister for Railways

SSR are currently leasing C502 for grain traffic.

I'm sure they'd be happy to take C503 instead, particularly if they need it for a long period.

Maybe thats the plan.

Given CFCLA are a minority owner of the C Class fleet (3 out of the 10) and SSR are the majority (6 of the 10)*, what might be the chances of more C Classes being purchased by SSR?

Or perhaps a swap of the Cs for the Gs?

A follow on question, are there any significant economies of scale in fleet ownership in rail?  I know there are in airlines, where  having a fleet of 20 737s is far better cost wise than a fleet of 5, for example (in terms of utilising maintenance capacity, optimal spares levels etc).

*Based on other threads, PN or Seymour Rail Heritage Centre own the other one - C501

There were originally two, GL111 & GL112.

There were pics posted elsewhere on May 18 (a week after my post) showing what looked to be GL112 receiving a new paint scheme at Islington.

Cs will load at Coolamon then head south to Appleton Dock (Melbourne). First train of Emerald contract.

Branchliners to join rake and other locos currently at Parkes to load at Trangie.

I meant going Lithgow-Parkes-Coolamon (not via the Main South etc), which you look to have answered (as well as other questions).

Thanks
