Constant "Railpage is unavailable" outage pages

I've updated Chrome but I'm still having problems with being unable to use some functions (likes, editing, PM's). I'm guessing we will have to wait for David to update and fix?
don_dunstan
I logged in by typing Railpage in the Chrome search bar, selected forums and then logged in OK. Railpage works on my I Phone 7.
"nswtrains"

I have the opposite problem, it won't come up if I type it into the search bar but if I used to tab assigned to forums it works perfectly. I also can't hit "like" or any of the emoji type things... not that it's really a substantial issue...

Hope this problem will be fixed eventually, I admit it is pretty frustrating not being able to view the Railcams.

Ok, here is an update.

I have decided to bring a developer onto my staff for a period of 6 months.  The developer will maintain the code and the site and implement the changes we want to see.

In addition, this developer will do the API endpoints for the mobile APP which is being built.

What I need is a small team of users who can help me manage this development.

So assuming the backlog is caught up at the end of 6 months, what does the future hold for ongoing development/maintenance?

Plan is to have the defect backlog addressed over 2-3 weeks in total and then the remainder of the contract to work on new features decided by the users and also to build several API's wich consumers can use to update data and publish to the platform.  The developer will also work with the Mobile APP developer to build out the service layer for mobile integration.

I am thinking of an API allowing groups to build out and maintain locomotive database.

The mobile app includes a lot of interesting features and is for android and apple.

Best outage page yet:

Great cricket knowledge guys. If only the servers were half as good as you are with your funny outage pages.

Not sure if it's an RP issue, because the functions mentioned are working OK in Firefox.

The servers are fine, in fact they are new from November 2017.  There is plenty of capacity we just have some troublesome software.

I just got an outage page proclaiming: "Michael Greenhill did it!"

But perhaps it's a case of Michael Greenhill hasn't done it... Laughing

(Apologies Michael, couldn't resist).

Hopefully the issues can be fixed soon but I myself would prefer the overall site plan is built so we can rely on this going forward for the future.

What a base to build from and a mobile decide app would be a great way to move forward.

Thanks all for the patience.  The plan is going into place rapidly to deal with the issues but also site changes, re-writes and setting up for mobile devices amongst may other features.

Full time developer starting shortly.

Hope you guys can upgrade this site as it is really useful and enjoyable.

Man6 options are n9 longer working and I realise this is a free site and all but getting someone to addresss these issues is just great and hopefully new things will also appear.

Mobile device download app would be great.

I have many ideas for this.

Finally in the diagram above which I do not understand but looks impressive there exists a round diagram called train data. What is this?

Doing reading on api software which suggests machine to machine talking allowing for content to be shared between systems. I am personally most interested in the mobile side as I believe this is where the site should go. Real time information which can be done better than Facebook.

I have no trouble logging in and most times no trouble at all once I am in however of late when I go to log out from Railpage and hit the log out button up comes the outage  page again, but it does log you out though. Also when getting onto Railpage first up and getting the log in page it tells me that the password is wrong before you even start doing anything else. I have my computer set to remember and fill in these details but if I click on log in it opens Railpage for me no problems at all.

We are aware of the issues and are onboarding a new developer this week.  Appreciate the feedback and your patience.

Guys just letting you know the specialist developer has started work this evening on the server configuration and has noticed several issues with  the site which he will now start to address.  Be prepared for some server restarts which will take us off line for a few minutes at a time.

Might I suggest that such news should be posted in the "Developer's Updates" sticky thread?

Sure for general updates.  This is specific to the outages we are experiencing.

OK. I don't see actual outages, only the outage page when you go to http://www.railpage.com.au from there I click the donate link and log in then browse the forums...
