Was in Austral Model Craft tonight, they had Southern 48' containers with their branding on it. Couldn't help but pickup a pair. was impressed with the actual containers, apparently 5 other hobby shops across the country have had it done as well.Found another set.
New blog http://www.southernrailmodels.com.au/blog/19th-february-2018/ includes:Interesting, the 2300/2400 pics have been changed since the blog was first issued. I'd swear the sample pics showed an earlier variant, possibly a 1550'.
revamped website, online ordering.
discounts on selected models.
2300/2400 tooling samples+ $60 sound upgrade!
new structures (sanding tower, stock race)
Great news in the latest Blog update regarding the LL coal hoppers. The tooling samples looked like an "N" scale version with, as Terry would put it, steam roller wheels fitted. The latest advice from SRM is that the factory has been asked to alter the wheels to RP88 versions and they have agreed. Fantastic! The latest 3D versions look much better.Agreed, but PLEASE give us standard length axles so that those who wish to use other wheel widths, can readily change them. I'd hate to see non-standard axles, as were found in some SDS wagons!
If you were a female Rocket I would give you a kiss. Well done!!
Happy hoppering,
John
