There is the Tenterfield Railway Station Museum and the Australian Railway Monument and Rail Journeys Museum at Werris Creek. The website address for Tenterfield is http://www.tenterfieldbiz.com/railway



To set a group up would need a lot of hard work, people to form a group and plenty of money and red tape. John Holland Rail (I think) are the operators of all branch lines in that area and would need to be contacted and possibly the local council/shire and all the local farmers and also the local member of parliament to assist you.

If there is, you won't get it going by asking for interest in "a preservation group."

If you can't tell people about which loco/station/line you are going to preserve, it just sounds like an invitation to a Mothers Union meeting.

And obviously you like to be spoon feed everything. "This is what we are going to do, this is how we are going to do it, and if you don't like it well that's just too bad".
Obviously you just like to be a passenger, and just go along for the ride, if you could even be bothered.
No one has bothered to asked me, "What's your plans?"

If you knew the first thing about setting up a business, then you would know that the first thing you do is market research.
Is your product going to sell in the area you plan to setup in?
Is there interest in a preservation group in Tamworth?
Or is the interest in the New England?

If you want to form something, try generating some interest instead of expecting the world to beat a path to your door, and then bitching when nobody does.
