No.3 for a Wynnum bridge in recent times - this time at the 1.9metre bridge near Wynnum Central station - lost their roof mount.

Travelled on EMU 69 ex Wynnum Central yesterday, so this 60 series unit still going.  Also pedestrian gates at the station and on adjoining roadway jammed shut for at least an hour, whereas road traffic booms still working. No station staff on a Sat.  Was reported to QR, who said help was on its way.

With the exception of a six car SMU set, all of the trains I noticed running through Doomben and on the Airport Line yesterday were NGRs. Their "locomotive" horns make them easy to pick out from the other suburban units.

Does anyone know if the NGR sets are all going to get the aboriginal decorations or if some are going to stay plain grey like they are now?

Of the 17-ish delivered and in service only 3 have the aboriginal wraps.

I wonder if the driver paid for insurance excess reduction?

I think his credit card will be maxed out after that when he returns the keys to Thrifty.

Boom gates stuck down on Glenora St, Wynnum LX for the third known time in a month.  Has done wonders for the local morning school peak.

EMU failed during this morning's ( Friday ) peak at Wynnum North with last 2 cars failing to make the DOWN platform. Pantos lowered.  Single track operation on the UP line resulted.  I was heading out so don't know the outcome, but all seemed OK by lunch time.

Have any of the EMUs (60s especially) or ICEs actually been retired/removed from service? People have been saying they’ll be retired this year but I don’t see any decline.

Issues on Cleveland-Shorncliffe line this morning in the late peak.

After 0800 a City bound unknown SMU unit failed in the DOWN platform at Wynnum Central, causing single line working in both directions on the UP line from Manly to Wynnum North till 0915.  City bound trains returned to the DOWN line at Lytton Junction.

At 0925 Cleveland services resumed on its UP line.  From a distance and from its rear I saw the failed SMU then crawling back to Manly on the DOWN line.  There were no lights on the rear of the train, so I am guessing only  the front unit was working.  Meanwhile the first Cleveland bound train ran parallel to the crawling failed train out of Wynnum Central.

Gold Coast 7:29 NGR716 from Airport had issues and was stopped at Roma Street this morning. People with luggage were waiting on Platform 5 for a connection. All of the signs said ‘Translink’ and moments later I saw it passing through South Bank at around 8:15. The notifications say delayed so I assume they just got another NGR to do the line (because they usually leave every 30min and this time it said 15min delay). I don’t exactly know why this happened. Maybe a door fault? The NGRs have been suffering a lot of criticism about their technical problems recently.

I actually have to say, the Gold Coast lines have been suffering immensely these past few days. What’s going on with the NGRs? This morning 717 failed due to “operational issues” at Roma Street and just then I got a notification saying 45min delays on GC line.
Nothing’s been going off so far so I thought I’d just post here.

Travelled on 225 this morning and noticed a new automated PA broadcast compared to last week.  Well before the next station the PA advised what the next station is, and " if this is your station, please prepare to disembark ". Right as the train stopped the PA then announced the station name plus "mind the gap".  First thought this was the guard, but it obviously wasn't.

Local teens who were travelling added some humour.  At each station when " mind the gap " was announced they joined in chorus fashion.

Chaos At Kippa-Ring station due to the tree on the overheads incident at Northgate. I was on IMU169 into Kippa-Ring following EMU 12 & 24 which was empty to run back to Brisbane. My train came into a pretty full platform only for them to be advised my train was also to run empty to Brisbane. Even more stupid was an empty train running behind mine on special to collect passengers to Cleveland??
Then behind that was another train from Springfield??? Wow.

Had to wait 52min at Roma St just to get on a Kippa-Ring train due to ‘overhead power line issues at Eagle Junction and ‘Airport Junction’’. Absolutely full (close to a max load) and people had to get ready to get off at least 2 stations before. Then the next Redcliffe train has basically no-one on it. Gold Coast, Doomben, Ipswich/Springfield, Beenleigh lines were all affected with 30min-1hr delays.
Also new PA broadcast about detraining at either Bald Hills, Lawnton or Petrie as there is no accessibility for people needing assistance at Strathpine station due to refurbishments (currently temporary platforms 2 & 3 and temporary staircase access only).
