Alright I checked the numbers with my little database for the past 3 months:
First series 01-13
Caught 02 17/07/18
Caught 03 15/06/18
Caught 07 19/07/18 and 25/07/18
Caught 08 30/05/18 and 12/06/18
Haven’t been on 09

14-59
Caught 45 on 24/07/18
Haven’t been on 54
Caught 58 on 30/05/18, this Wednesday 29/08/18 (paired with 61)

60-79
Caught 65 04/06/18
Caught 74 21/06/18
Others I haven’t caught nor sighted

80-88
Haven’t seen or caught 87

Some of these dates are recent but others are pretty old so most of the numbers are right. I’d point out 58, 07, 45, and 02.

I can confirm 87 is with 59 in Mayne Sidings. 88 and 85 were on different lines today. Saw 01 and 33, 84 and 73, 40, and 32 today in service. Caught 60 but forgot to get the other car’s numbers this afternoon on the Redcliffe.

59 & 87 have been turned as well as 87 was facing north last week, now facing south.
I think the standard sets will be in and out of service regarding which sets they are paired up with (01-13 or 60-79) but 59 & 87 seems a bit strange.

Yes it is quite an odd combination @Skyblue1. I was just wondering how you came up with the list of the trains in storage?
  Skyblue1 Assistant Commissioner

I went through all the messages in this thread and came up with numbers. It’s purely of what people have seen so observations are the key I guess. With Elimbah full I think movements to another yard for new sets into storage could be on the cards. Wonder why the numerous sidings at Redbank aren’t used tho??

Yes it seems QR is taking its time. I would assume 09, 54, and most of the 60-79s are out of the game now but I hope the rest of them are still going for a little longer. It’s not that I don’t like the new trains, I just want to get more info about the old ones before they get scrapped (or whatever QR plans to do with them).
