Spotted an unknown B2 running down Glenferrie Rd, Toorak towards Malvern with Route 70a on the desto on Saturday around 5pm.

Hate to drag an old thread up but I saw a D2 5001 on Route 1 today

I experienced an unusual tram sighting today by going on one, it was a Z3 on Route 59 from Moonee Ponds Junction to Essendon Station. From a distance I could've sworn it was a 57a or 82 coming out of the depot

This is the second time posting about it, but today I was on ANOTHER Z3 Route 59 tram [starting to think with the depot and route reshuffling going on, it's starting to become not unusual] Flinders Street to Moonee Ponds. And also there was a B2 on Collins St displaying Route 12 Victoria Gardens

I rode A2 281 from Vermont South to the city on Wednesday night due to most of Camberwell's B2s being used on 70a shuttles. On the same night I also passed a W class on Bridge Rd. Earlier that week I passed another W class heading outbound on the 75 near Hawthorn Depot.

B2. 2044 was running a 57 to West Maribyrnong on Sunday. Not a 57a; definitely a proper 57, I saw it near the bridge over the Maribyrnong River heading west.

I have definitely never seen that before.

Probably a diverted or short 57 where the desto wasn't changed to 57a. B2s have been to the West Maribyrnong terminus before but they don't usually run the usual route through North Melbourne. Running a 57 via Haymarket is a possibility.

The last couple of times that I have been to St Kilda I have seen A Class trams on Acland Street.

Doubt it was a diverted 57a, as I saw it about three kilometres past where the 57a turns around. The destination definitely said it was a 57 and going all the way to the West Mariibyrnong terminus.

It may well have gone via Haymarket though; are B2s still physically incapable of running the route via North Melbourne? Is it the curve at the beginning of Abbotsford Street that gets them?

I don't know whether the curves have been realigned for larger trams (it doesn't make sense to me why a B2 or any other articulated tram couldn't make it around there, the Abbotsford St curve looks just like any other 90° curve e.g. the back streets of St Kilda on route 12, or Caulfield station on route 3).

I also don't know whether this D1 went all the way along that part of the 57 two years ago or was just shunting:
