4 wheel coal hopper and brake van pricing & info released.
Another update on the Phoenix Models website...Thanks Ardglen.
The drawings show the centre pair of drivers as flangeless. This is incorrect for most D53 engines as far as I am aware. The term TF stood for T Flanged as I understood it. Or is this merely a suburban myth?I thought it stood for "Total Failures"

Weren't the centre driver flanges removed by the mid-fifties as engines went through the workshops? Pretty sure 5461 and 5367 don't have them.
On page 55 of the June issue of AMRM, it was announced that third parties had purchased the tooling to several Eureka projects. The third parties turned out to be Austrains and SDS under the name Phoenix Reproductions.Another update on the Phoenix Models website...Thanks Ardglen.
So it now appears that Phoenix Reproductions are to do the D53 with Wampu and Commonwealth tenders. Is Eureka still in the picture for these models? It appears that the Eureka D50 mechanism will be used. The drawings show the centre pair of drivers as flangeless. This is incorrect for most D53 engines as far as I am aware. Happy standard goodsing,

Generally the TF's all had flanged drivers on all wheels, unlike the T's.Thanks for the input apw5910.The drawings show the centre pair of drivers as flangeless. You may well be right. I had a look on the web for recent photos of 5367 and although I cannot definitively say the loco has flangeless sets of centre drivers it does appear as though they are flangeless. I seem to recollect that other 53/55 class have flangeless drivers too. Will make a specific note next time I am close to one of these locos.
Happy flanging,
John
June AMRM 2019Don't have my copy yet, but assuming this is true, there goes my hobby budget...
(willing to stand corrected) Phoenix announces forthcoming RTR VR D3 steam loco - limited to 1200 units

I've just been reading the news section of the latest AMRM, it states that the D3 is coming out of the same factory used by Rapido. It also notes that there will be 2 tender types offered which share parts with the Eureka K class. Does this mean that the K is coming out of the same factory?Possibly but strange things can happen these days with manufacturer/ distributors.
No, Eureka are doing the K Class, and Phoenix is now building the tenders. I gather Eureka will get as many tenders as they require for their models, and they will be transfered to the Eureka factory for painting and decorating. Very clever cost savings for both models. I wonder if The K Class will get both tenders as well?I've just been reading the news section of the latest AMRM, it states that the D3 is coming out of the same factory used by Rapido.
