Impressed with the alignment across the Lockyer Valley production area with minimal resumption of productive agricultural land (just one small area just north of Laidley).  One orchard in the Calvert to Kagaru section sectioned out but apart from this, low direct impact (resumption) on high value agricultural land.

If Australia goes down the electric route with trucks then god help the rail industry. Electric trucks will be more efficient and cost effective then diesel trains regardless of how much a train can carry.

It won't so much be just electric trucks, but driverless trucks that could, and may very well destroy the rail based intermodal industry. Rail could easily lose most, if not all, traffic tasks where road capacity or lack of regulation is available.

Though if that happens then congestion goes through the roof and there will be regulatory responses to address that.

What the heck is the CSIRO going to achieve with this study. The ARTC doesn't control that track and the track north of seymour is BG and not SG.
