05.20 Calen - 2191F/2371 in the loop with 62N9 empty cattle.
07.45 Inkerman - Green signals for northbound Spirit of Queensland.
07.55 Home Hill - 8314 loading sugar on the Carstairs Branch.
08.05 Ayr - PN002 with 87P0, heading over to Home Hill to cross the Spirit of Queensland.
08.40 Storth - 2838/2475D in the loop with 8279, waiting for 8328 with a southbound sugar.
08.55 Partington - 8801 and 8803 sitting amongst the PNs and 83s in the PN Yard.
A trainload of those wagons is going to look very nice, especially with a couple of those new Clydes up front.2473 hauling 2 new grain wagons southbound through Nobby @ 16:50.
The wagons were Watco's new grain hoppers, plus 2473 is a QR loco...so not entirely clear if this was a QR train or how involved Watco was in this run, but the beginning of good things for the Southern Line.
A good Winter cropping season with much bigger tonnages than previous years is expected out of the Central Highlands for 2019. At this stage it's looking like most of Watco's initial grain haulage will be to Mackay and Gladstone.Thanks Sulla, I will keep an eye out for them in Mackay.
Grantham area on 12/07/19Take great care around that bank near Grantham after rain, the clay is very slippery. Very easy to slide/fall down onto the track.
