Frankston to Langwarrin should be considered with funding from the Federal Government and should the line then we connected to the Gippsland line via Cranbourne South.

The whole point of the suburban loop is to catch that sort of traffic.
Much better to focus on getting easier peninsula targets like Somerville then Hastings or Mornington.

Will it really extend out there as the theme seems to be Langwarrin needs a rail line and of course gippsland line could access the port at Long Island.

I thought electrification from Frankston to Baxter (Past Langwarrin) was an election promise from both major parties.

Was I wrong?

This is, of course, correct.  I feel like the people who wrote the report above haven't been paying any attention.

The only difference between the two parties was that the Libs reckoned they were going to do it immediately or at least short-term (although their candidate for Carrum slipped at a public meeting that they may have only gone as far as Langwarrin), whereas Labor have it on their longer-term planning.
