Thanks to all those who have made RP work during 2019 by running, contributing to and moderating the show.

Thanks especially to those who have made particularly informative and intelligent contributions during 2019.

Best wishes to all for Christmas and 2020.

Didn't get much of what I wanted done on RP this year.  We did do a lot of under the covers work to fix outages and to make the site run a lot faster earlier in the year.  The PHP session code was cleaned up making things easier leave now a lot of the function stuff there to now be corrected.  I had hoped to have completed the new railcam modules to move away from flickr.com but this remains unfinished.

The railcams still record just not available on RP website.

We have some half written mobile app code too which we need to finish.

It has been a rather hard year for myself so I guess I will try and devote more time to oversee and fund the functional fixes and uplifts.  Thanks for your continued support.

After that effort Petan I would beg to differ.
At least that 'acronym' is unlikely to be easily confused like the multiple meanings of NSU, ICE and STD for example. Rolling Eyes

Happy Xmas everyone - hope all Railpagers have a prosperous New Year. Wasn't sure where to post this rather alarming picture of Jamie Packer going to family Xmas celebrations @ the Packer family digs in Aspen, Colorado. I think it could be fair to say Jamie is a bit unhappy looking right now - as a fellow human being my heart goes out to him. But it goes to show all the money in the world doesn't equal perennial happiness doesn't it...

Merry Christmas and happy new year to all involved.

Thx for keeping this site up and running and for allowing us access.

One thing I would like to see happen is the rail cams fixed and can we have a weekly digest of the top read news articles as I read them here often as a great source of information and news. First class really.

Well 2020 has started with the first major downtime for over 2.5 years.  For some reason the internet port on one of our swtiches rejected a connection to our internet provider (it is ethernet) and the provider shutdown the port.  We are still looking to what actually happened technically but services are back.

We are experiencing a heavy load right now but hope this will normalise over the next few hours as users and systems whom we syndicate to catch up.

Thanks for your patience.
