Sorry, can't seem to get the links to work from either Google or Safari

Instead of posting links, go to Youtube.com and search for 'Railways of Doom'. Both videos are his; he also has transfers for #6 & 7 amongst others

I'm impressed with the Metro trains HCMT film footage .In fact I was that impressed I had to make this observation ,that I didn't see the usual signage directing passengers that reads "Due to train Cancellations a replacement  Road Coach will now operate".

Set #2 parked at newport yards next to the werribee mainline today. Suggestions elsewhere of high speed mainline testing in the coming weeks. Most of Jan werribee is buses replacing trains in the evenings, so that may suggest a timeline

Set number 10 was transferred to East Pakenham on February 17, during the afternoon, hauled by two SSR T class.
Based on some Youtube videos, number 11 was complete and ready to be transferred by late February. It was apparently no longer at Newport by the end of the first week of March; the presumption is it is now at East Pakenham, moved sometime in the first week of March.
Set 12 is being completed for coupling with #13 starting assembly and #14 shells being delivered.

Try these (& a warning. The second is an almost unedited family video which happens to include HCMT assembly in the background. I skipped a lot of it)

Apparently Andrews and co are still saying the middle of this year but they have to get E002 over the 10,000km test running with less than a quarter of that with faults. I would suggest that is why they close lines like Pakenham and Werribee to test this one; to get the km up asap but they still need to get regulator approval to run them. The paperwork is probably already done waiting for the trigger to lodge for approval, if not already lodged. We'll just have to wait and see

Video of another transfer to East Pakenham, most probably the 12th train but it may only be the 11th as I haven't seen it confirmed that E011 is already at Pakenham. The quality and focus prevents me seeing any numbers on the train and it's not mine so I didn't see it in real time.

The train pictured in my last post was definitely E011 as E012 is still being finished off at Newport as of 22 March, as per this video

There is another whole train's worth of cars still in their delivery wrapping and at least four more well on their way to being coupled together visible in this clip.

Anyone know what has happened to E001?
It has not been talked about on this forum since it was delivered to Pakenham East Depot, nor has it been sighted on the mainline for testing with E002 having the honours  of being first.

TOQ-1 and NimbleJack posted on this forum that E001 has serious electrical issues. There were suggestions that there were also problems with the bogies and "undercarriage" whatever that was supposed to mean. It seems that #1 may not see service without getting new motor units or replaced completely, probably at Downers expense as I don't imagine CRRC would be willing to wear the cost of a 66th set after Downer appears to have stuffed it up so well.

Problems with the bogies and undercarriage... due to poor track? There's a word for that, starts with an I. Icon..Idea..Idol..Iron. Nope, can't think of it right now.  Twisted Evil

"Due to poor track" - on a brand new train that had never been out of the construction yard until the move to East Pakenham? Rather unlikely IMHO; far more likely to be poor construction since the design appears to work adequately for all subsequent deliveries.

Okay, thank you. I was just not sure if it was speculation at the time of posting or actual information.

I guess we will see sometime in the future as to what will become of set #1.
