Could this be the first example of a heritage railway (Picton to Buxton) running a service for the RFS or CFA for any preservation railway?Apparently they've done it on previous occasions to Buxton as well.

Reading now that the fire has crossed the rail line and the Hume is closed. The news article didn't detail which line though.
Buxton would seem to be right in the line of fire and people from Tahmoor are being told to head toward Picton.

Fire crossing rail line at Balmoral would mean the loop line .
Why not deploy more trains using this method across the country.For firefighting ?
