Realistically there are only three possibilities for moving the Carmicheal mines coal to Abbot Point. That's PN, Aurizon or Adani setting up their own in house operation.
The article says PN is happy to haul the coal if Adani pays them enough money. Aurizon told the ABC that any questions about the Adani coal haul were irrelevant as they had not issued any tender as yet and the article reported that Adani had begun the process of accreditation as a rolling stock operator.
So basically all three possibilities are still on the table.
The rest of the article was just a rehash of the previous story about some of Aurizon's shareholders not wanting the company to be involved despite there being no evidence they've had any influence on Aurizon's management.
