Everyday QR Network Observations

Could anyone on this thread tell me what has happened to Aurizon's X54? She was put up for sale a while ago and there's been nothing since.
Probably not the place to ask, in the Qld Observations thread, as I doubt X54 has ever been to Qld!
I think you'll find X54 was on freights into Brisbane, so it was worth a punt asking here.

Hi, 5BM7 tomorrow, Thursday, is G521+X54+X53. The Cls seem to have been transferred onto East-West duties so we have an all exVR combo tomorrow. Not sure which X is painted QRN but we should have, I think, SCT, FA, and QRN liveries.

I can confirm that in the days leading up to the introduction of the LDPs and for about 6 months after all the ex VR locos used by QRN ran to Brisbane. This included G, and X classes together with the ex CR ELs, CLP/Fs, ex WAGR L class and ex NSWGR 422 and 421 classes. I photographed the X class at Fisherman Island several times (There were no fences or security then). In those days the MB7 trains included loading for FI, and the train would drop off the ACR loading and continue on to the port. I don't know if the Ls ever got that far, they were not often used on the MB/BM7 trains but they did run some of them.
Typical of the lash - ups were CLP13+G516+X53 on BM7 on 31/8/2010, G513+CLP13+42105 on 24/8/2010. My last sighting of an X was on 11/12/2012 when CLF!+CLF3+X54+CLF7 hauled 5MB7 through Kagaru at 9 am.

Correction, that last date for the X class sighting should be 11/2/2012. My last sighting of anything other than LDPs was on 11/10/12 when CLF2+CLF13+CLP10+42105 did the honours on 3MB7, and the last CL was CLF4 as LDP006+LDP003+CLF4 on 24/1/2013.

Noted last year sleepers in Manly sidings had been replaced by, I think, these new plastic types, coloured brown.....

This morning between Wynnum Central and Manly I noted a section of pre-built track ( rails on sleepers ) sitting to one side of the Down track near the school, also consisting of plastic sleepers.

That may have explained a visit by two DEL's in the middle of the night a few nights ago through Wynnum, most likely delivering this.

Further to the above post - I travelled to Manly today and noted these pre built tracks on plastic sleepers are actually 2 replacement crossovers.  The current crossovers on concrete sleepers are outside the local High School between Manly and Wynnum Central, about 200 metres away from the pre-builts' current location..  So it looks like plastic sleepers are the new " in thing ".
