G scale Aristo Craft train controller

Looking for a suitable controller for Aristo Craft G scale locomotives.  An online manual suggests that you must run the locomotives with a controller that supplies "pulse width control" and I gather that it outputs DC to the track.

Apparently I can use an ART-5401 with a DC power supply than can provide 20A... has anyone tried that?

Since an ART-5401 is an Aristocraft controller I guess it would be expected to work?

It depends on the size of the locos and layout.   I've run a Bachmann Davenport around a circle of track with a normal CDA controller from a HO layout without hassle.  These days that mech is under the U class in my avatar and runs off batteries without drama.

Following a little more research (RTFM!), I tried a 0-25V 10A benchtop power supply and everything ran perfectly.  I have a switch inline to allow backward/forward and the loco runs beautifully Smile
