    Location: If it isn't obvious by now, it should be.
    It’s funny how you say SRHC don’t lease there locos but both S303 and X31 are back out on hire to Qube and are meant to be picked up today apparently
    All due respect, as an SRHC member, I haven't heard anything about X31-S303 going on hire. More than likely just a rumour.

    Definitely isn't a rumour. 9372 just past Wandong with B80, B76, S303 and X31.

    As I see it, SRHC haven't had any of their locomotives hired out between the end of March and the end of July. If they were relying on this side of their business to provide the majority of their income, they would be in serious trouble.

    On the other hand, during that time, they have run quite a few tours, including but not limited to, several Cruise Express shuttles on both BG & SG, numerous Royal Train tours out of Castlemaine and a tour to Echuca via Toolamba.

    It doesn't seem to me that they are heavily relying on hiring out their locos at the moment, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't hire them out when the option is there.

    There's a recent update on the Vicsig website showing that H1, T371, and Y152 have appeared in the Melbourne Freight Terminal.

    Presumably to await the same fate as most of the other PN locos of that vintage to arrive there??

    There's a recent update on the Vicsig website showing that H1, T371, and Y152 have appeared in the Melbourne Freight Terminal.

    Presumably to await the same fate as most of the other PN locos of that vintage to arrive there??

    Didn't PN recently get H1 converted over to SG? It would seem a bit strange to do something like that and then chop it up. But then again this is PN who do not have a very good history of engaging the 'makes sense' function of their decision making process so I guess anything's possible

    It swapped bogies with T392 as they needed the T to fish wagons out of Tottenham Yard for scrapping (the T has an ICE radio, whereas the H didn't).

    T371 and Y152 are also ICE fitted so I'd be surprised if they did get the chop given the cost of installing it, but stranger things have happened.

    Pacific National have scrapped quite a number of locomotives with ICE radio systems still fitted.

    Don’t think for a second pause will be pressed because of a radio unit. I’ve seen all the different parts of an ICE radio unit in the same scrap trailer as the rest of the loco they were fitted to and more than once.

    H 1 and Y 152(?) noted today at North Dynon, hiding behind the sheds. Same spot where poor NB1872 was “disappeared”. Assume they are not there for palliative care

    Saw it last monday, H1 was not a complete beast, Y152 has reportedly been sold to Vline for spares.

    The gossip at work was that H1 scrapping stalled as the contractors are having trouble getting down from Port Kembla due to COVID restrictions. Uncertain when/if it will resume.

    Of course, rumours are usually unreliable...

    Thanks to you and others for replying. Do you know what the plans are for X50? Was she withdrawn from the Mildura freight last year on a/c needing repairs?
