The City of Wuhan in China has been completely locked down, People can't come in or go out.

Could this be as big as SARS?
It may already be so, but it is not easy to tell. It depends on a number of factors such as the accuracy of the information coming out of China, changes in the Chinese health care system over the last twenty years and the application of lessons learned from SARS and MERS, both of which were also caused by novel coronaviruses. Ask again in six months or so...
allan
Now nearly six months later
Big as SARS: 1000 times larger than SARS
Information from China is accurate: Hard no
Chinese Health care preventative measures worked: Some
Did we use lessons learned with SARS and MERS: No

Cases of Coronavirus are really spiralling out of control in the U.S, in the States of Texas and Arizona it's really getting serious. I can't help but think all those BLM protests had a massive impact on the sharp rise in case numbers.
  justapassenger Minister for Railways

I don't recall reading of Texas and Arizona being BLM hot spots.

Maybe they have simply been complacent, like the filthy Victorians passing the virus around.

Also has been sharp rises in California as well, there were heaps of protests there after the death of George Floyd.

Meanwhile Queensland's stand on not reopening borders seems to have been vindicated by the fact that there are currently only 2 active cases, both of which are on the Gold Coast. Push them over the border during the night and we can be virus free! Wink

Did anyone see that cu*t in Broady on 7news last night?
We are never getting rid of this stupid virus cause of him and others that share his outlook.

It seems in come circles around the government there have been escapees from lockdown at hotels (quarantine) who have taken the virus into the community and hence Daniel Andrew's thinking of using ADF to keep these cats locked up.  This changed.

How did a person with COVID19 leave a hotel and spend time with a social group?

Better yet, relocate the border north and Qld can make a few other things someone else's problem at the same time.

The World brought up a grim milestone overnight, so far, 10 Million people have become infected with COVID-19, also over 500,000 people have sadly passed away to this virus.
  justapassenger Minister for Railways

Dear journalists reporting on the situation in Victoria at the moment - you can't call it a peak until it starts going down afterwards.
  Carnot Minister for Railways

It's probably more like 50-100 million infected with 500000 deaths. So many not tested or asymptomatic.

The first active case in Bendigo today after 8 weeks Corona-free.

75 Cases of Coronavirus have been diagnosed in Victoria overnight, this is a real concern for Dan Andrews and the rest of his team down there, if it's not a 2nd wave, it's getting bloody close to one....

This is becoming very very worrying. If it is over 100 tomorrow I think we are in trouble.

Well, they will have to shut the border, either you're Govt or ours.
  Carnot Minister for Railways

Said Bendigo case was actually a resident of Bendigo who tested positive in Melb.

Anyway, can a wall be built around Melbourne?

Was there a realistic option for them to be tested in Bendigo, or did they have to go to Melbourne for that?

Anyway, what matters is where they caught it and where they've been passing it.

There's too much community transmission in Victoria now (who would have known that a virus easily prevented by basic personal hygiene would be an issue in Victoria?) for contact tracing to be of any help. It's time for them to go back to either stage 1 of the recovery plan or even before the recovery plan.

Of course the majority of the new cases resulting from testing come from the 'less affluent' suburbs upon which they are currently concentrating.
Are they are testing anywhere else?

There's actually a big testing centre in town at the old Hospital ED.  They're finding that many of those tested just have rhinovirus (common cold).

Apparently about 2500 people in Vic are in quarantine.  I wouldn't be surprised if the stay-at-home order similar to when Stage 3 came in, will be reinstated.
