I'm trying to find a source for overall dimensions for railway carriages. I'm surprised at how hard it is to locate this, even in historical registers (for example the entries in the NSW heritage records don't include this).
Can anyone point me to sources where you can use the carriage's identification number and get details like this.
I ask as I'm looking for a Goldilocks carriage: one that's not too small or narrow to convert to accommodation, but not so long that it's problematic to ship by road (so around 13m or 42' in length).
