    Surprised that noone has mentioned Snowpiercer yet. Or is that too Sci-fi and political for peoples here tastes here? Its also a fair bit newer then the stuff mentioned, The Guy who directed it later did Parasite

    Could this be a Hitchcock film?

    My votes go for:

    "The Taking of Pelham One Two Three". Not the pointless remake, but the original from 1974 with Walter Matthau and Robert Shaw.

    and

    "From Russia With Love". Still my favourite 007 film, with Sean Connery and Robert Shaw (again) having a brilliant fight scene inside a sleeper cabin aboard the Orient Express. I think about a quarter of the film is set on the famous train.

    I'm a bit disappointed neither of them had yet been mentioned here to be honest.

    Sounds like "Double Indemnity" (1944) d irected by Billy Wilder.

    edit: Second thoughts, I think you mean "Strangers on a Train" (1951) which was a Hitchcock film.

    I enjoyed Dr Zivago with the set back cross in the middle of nowhere while running trains under train orders. The signal shot at the end was rather well filmed as well.

    "Cassandra Crossing". Almost the the whole film is on board the passenger train, with a highly infectious pathogen on the loose, (No, not Covid19!).

    Just watched it.  Great movie, except some continuity errors when the train was approaching the Cassandra Crossing when the doctor was fighting to uncouple the second class section.  Scenes alternately have electrified lines and non-electrified ones.  The mountain climber (drug dealer) was also filmed climbing on the roof of the train under wires.  In real life because the air pocket is reduced by the human body, the air would have been plasmized and current conducted via the human body, electrocuting him.
