A success story from beginnings where only a single service route was offered between Paris and Waterloo. This would layer change to a northern side station at pancreas.

Services expanded room Belgium and then to Amsterdam. Shows high speed rail services are very useful and can do what many airlines would like to do.

Yeah what I think they are trying to say is the new service adds to the already running services and shows that high speed rail is popular and can replace flights?

London population = 9 million
distance to paris 448 kilometres
Paris population = somewhere over 10 million.
distance to Amsterdam = 590km's
Amsterdam area population - 9 million

Can someone tell me where in Australia there are 2 cities with the above mentioned combined populations within 450 - 600 kilometres of each other?

High speed rail is nice but you need big populations in close proximity to make it viable. Australia does not have this if your insinuation is that Australia should have this.
