Today's train eyeball confirmed as 8101, G540 and XR559, heading North over the Garden Street rail bridge a couple of minutes after 4pm.
Couple of hopefully quick questions. How long does it take for them to unload a 40 wagon train down there, given there's a bit of shunting involved, and second question, does the signaling on the line allow for follow on moves, and would there be enough room for one train to be unloading, and another to be at the yard limits, or even in the yard, waiting to unload?Five to six hours to unload. We've had two grain trains in at the same time, last time was 2017 when SSR C's were here and a PN train too. We've also had two grain trains and one mineral sand train here at the same time.
at the level crossing ! Perhaps they are trying to sneek past Mum's joint without her seeing or hearing them.

Is there many road trucks carting down there at the moment lads? Heard a little story that a heap of B Doubles have been carting out of Lillimur and straight to the port. Dunno which port though The siding out there only holds 20 wagons so its quicker to just load trucks. Trains in Nhill nearly every day for the past week or so. G520 XR and a BL in this morning.There are always trucks unloading grain as well as the trains when there is a ship in or due.

silo's ( cement ones ) have been condemned. So short of trucking grain to another GrainCorp site, Portland is the next obvious place.

BL31, XR558 and G520 on today's grain train.Morning troupes, hope everyone had a good day yesterday, we certainly did.
It must have been a really quiet morning, I could hear the rumble of the engines at home at 6.30. I’m about 2km away from the Port.It was about 0630 when the local crew arrived and moved the train up to the second bridge, they started work at the usual time around 0745.
