If I need to show medicare information that I've been vaccinated, if I go to a restaurant or similar (I've no intention) do I have the right to ask for their status, how is this going to work?

It'll be just like heritage organisations and WWCCs I guess. They have the right and obligation to ask and check, and there'll be strong motivation for them to do so. You won't have the right to check their vaccination status any more than you, when you visit a heritage organisation, have the right to ask if somebody working there has their WWCC. I guess you could go through some procedure to check, or you can just assume that everything is in order and the organisation/restaurant is doing its job.  You can always start your own restaurant or get a job at one (which will involve being vaccinated and being checked) if you're so keen on finding out whether or not people are vaccinated.

No. Their property, their business, they set the conditions of entry, you have the freedom to comply with those conditions or go home. Likewise in employment, the owner/boss sets the rules and policies of the business, employees either accept that or find alternate employment.

Just make this mandatory and pay people, I'm sure the liberals would be able to find even more nasty ways to hit the underprivileged, it's a liberals God given right, or not let them have the Vax at all, nuthin at all.
doyle
Just implement vaccine passports and keep them until the herd immunity threshold is reached, though that threshold is still unknown.

NSW Premier says the state has now hit 70% for first doses of the vaccine meaning NSW could now claim gold standard once again?

7 deaths overnight and nearly 1300 new cases.

Yes but currently 99% of businesses do not declare their vaccination requirements or status, therefore you cannot make that choice.

Glady's is right when she says this - "The sad reality is outside of a pandemic, we lose between 600 and 800 people every year to the flu."We have to put things into perspective. Nobody likes to talk about this because it is confronting.
"But we have to get back to living life as normal as possible, knowing that COVID is among us.
"You start normalising living with COVID when you have high rates of vaccination, when you have a lower rates of people going into hospital, the case numbers are less relevant but you are going to have death.
"It is a tragedy, I was providing a supportive message to the Heart Disease Doundation and 50 people every day lose their lives to heart disease.
"Death is horrible. But we also need to put things into perspective, because at the moment there are 8 million citizens who do not have a choice in how they spend their free time, who do not have a choice about what they can do when they leave their homes.
"That is no way to live.
"And Victoria is going through the same in Victoria has had six major lockdowns."

By the way Gladys was not right, her choice to f the country when we weren't vaccinated and quite ready, was just plain wrong. stop making excuses for her.

Gladys is 100% correct, we can't keep on living in lockdown's forever, I was of the view that lockdowns were the way to go before a safe and effective Vaccine was on the scene, now that we have these vaccines, I think when the country have had their chance to be fully vaccinated, the country should start to slowly open up.

There goes Melbourne, 120 + 176 in two days. 500 a day by next week methinks, warmer weather be damned. Great timing to open up and increase the movement radius, all while leaving the absolutely pathetic 9PM curfew in place. If the Labor government had half a brain it would have had the curfew start at sunrise to stop millions of people going out, not when 99% of the population is already at home watching a movie, playing video games or going to bed.

When will the government, at both state and federal levels, be held accountable for gross negligence?

NSW:
New cases and information reported in the last 24 hours [ul][li]Local cases: [ul][li]+1,288 new locally acquired cases: [/li][/ul][/li][li]Overseas cases: [ul][li]+0 new overseas case recorded in hotel quarantine[/li][/ul][/li][li]Deaths: [ul][li]+7 deaths reported:[/li][/ul][/li][/ul]
Blood on their hands, yet still in power because the people of Australia have their heads in their asres and won't dare challenge their supreme leaders for fear of being fined or put away.

Also notable:
Of Victoria’s active cases:
[ul][li]187 are aged between 0 and 9[/li][li]130 are aged between 10 and 19[/li][li]201 are aged between 20 and 29[/li][li]160 are aged between 30 and 39[/li][/ul]
Because of course only the rich (politicians, political donors, sportspeople etc.) and the over-60s (the LNP's voting base) were allowed access to vaccines several months before the rest of Australia could get them, meanwhile it was the same people spreading the virus to everyone else. I'm half expecting the Liberal Party to start blaming under-40s for spreading the virus during the time vaccines weren't legally available. Wait, they already did that last month, never mind.

Last night a Victorian Liberal propaganda ad aired during 7 News, blaming Labor for locking down and also mentioned the closed playgrounds, despite playgrounds being confirmed as reopening on the same day, if not the day before. Note that the state election is two years away, yet it was "authorised" by the Liberal Party, Melbourne. Wait, what? As long as you are a political party you can apparently say what you want, when you want, and it will be aired in a heartbeat? Of course, it's Channel 7! Ol' mate Rupes would never let them down. Not once has any other political party aired on 7 during the pandemic in order to to bash the ways of Scummo, Bin Chicken or O'Braindead.

Its already happening in other parts of the world you must show your vax status which is on an app on your phone.

Don't want to show it, no problem but you don't expect others to bend over for you.

Don't want to have a smart phone, no problem, stay at home.

Got a Smart phone and Medicare app, next I would suggest government should provide smart phones

Off-topic, but I do find it funny that JobSeeker recipients, who are living on about $5 a day after rent and bills, are expected to somehow conjure up $1000 for a smartphone just for the likes of Sarina Russo etc., not to mention paying the bills that come with owning a mobile phone. Also funny how many government-owned phone numbers are 1300/13 numbers and not 1800.

Hopefully 'fully vaccinated' means way more than 80%. If herd immunity can be achieved simply by vaccinating more than a certain number of people out of every 100,000 we shouldn't even have to live with covid forever. Current vaccines do reduce transmission and vaccinated people are unlikely to infect other vaccinated people.

When asked to produce ID/drivers license, a hard copy will suffice. Likewise, cash is accepted for payment for goods and services. IE, no smart anything required.
Medicare are suppling hard copy proof of vaccination, I have one on the way. Again no smart anything required.
