I admire your dedication, Y115. It’s a horrible day out there.

I missed the last two trains, at least it was not raining while I was out there.

I'll second that and I might say between Y115, RR's contributions as well as Mum's videos a comprehensive coverage of the rail traffic at Portland, well done team.

Loading at Marmalake now for Portland early tomorrow.

Good to see a standard gauge grain train loading at Dunolly for Portland. The line to Dunolly was converted back in the 90's for just that purpose. Nice to see it finally become a thing after all these years.

What's the current line speed? Any chance of an upgrade or is that wishful thinking?

with the amount of Grain trains this last year , the line needs a large upgrade asap to lift the speed limit to at least 80kmh. similar on the Yarrawonga /Oaklands line that has sometimes seen two grainnies per day, I do recall that one day three sepearate grainnies were seen on that line with a whopping speed of 40kmh. Same as Portland.

There's no sign of them slowing down on either line too. Better chance of ARTC lines being maintained/ upgraded than Vline ran freight lines.

40ks current line speed, probably no chance of an upgrade soon but who knows down here.

Have seen two truck loads of concrete sleepers the last couple of days, someone else said they are going to the depot, will have a look when the weather improves.
