From what I can gather so far on the SA election. The following topics I find would come into play and issue for SA voters such as
- Ambulance Ramping
- Possibly the decision to reduce ICAC powers ( If I am correct in describing this )
- Allowing Omicron into the state during the final two weeks of 2021 - sadly the Queensland premier also gave in to this too
There have been protests by nurses and medical staff against the LNP of South Australia to their handling of the issues that are considered serious
However, I am not certain that it would have been enough for a change over of Government, let alone a margin this big going to Labor.
I believe what has attributed in large part is the conduct of the Federal LNP. If the Federal LNP were out of sight, out of mind, out of consideration of voters, I sure it would be neck and neck.
Despite all the shortcomings of Premier Marshall, and of course decisions he made and paths he chose, I am sure he did his best to balance out everything. However there are agendas and demands he was facing from lobbying.
I highlight a particular example where Gladys did not lock down for 10 days after the Delta outbreak from and unvaccinated limousine driver. Gladys did a good job because she contained Alpha without locking down in the Northern suburbs. But with Delta she fooled around either from hubris or overconfidence or, just as likely, she was being pressured by the Federal LNP. Morrison praised her for not doing lockdowns. Looking back on it, I think she may have been forced against the alarm bells. This meant either way, she lit the fire and turned NSW and Victoria into an inferno.
Every other state almost didn't have enough time to seal off the borders, including South Australia.
Premier Marshall wasted no time as soon as an unwitting Delta positive got off the plane and locked down next day.Furthermore, he also had his Government issue directives for returning Olympians from Sydney Quarantine - to Quarantine again in SA Quarantine, despite Olympic Games officials reassuring them that only Sydney Quarantine would be enough. Delta positive with insufficient populace vaccination is a nightmare turned into reality without exaggeration
Any wise, informed and serious medical advice the Premier follows as soon as he receives over lobbying against and refusing political agendas is also most respectful during the COVID Pandemic. It's not just following advice and blindly letting them have their way.
Sometimes there are differences, it, however requires rationale explanation and justification.
Unfortunately, Omicron got out in NSW so close to border opening dates and both Marshall and Palaszczuk unfortunately faced a mountain of pressure from people pushing on insistence for cross border travel given so many families hadn't seen each other for so long.
This meant Omicron was allowed to get loose into both of these states
Western Australia continues to be rewarded for the leadership of Premier Mark McGowan.
I remember back when the Prime Minister was Tony Abbott, he made a decision to knight Prince Phillip, a week away from the Queensland Election. Campbell Newman was the LNP Premier then, the Liberal Party of the state ended up seething in white hot anger at the brazen, idiotic foolishness of the move.
Queensland Premier Anastasia Palaszczuk just managed to win with an independent giving her support ( if I remember correctly )
.... It was also about the time I logged on first time to Railpage to joke about 3801.... ( better not elaborate anymore Lol, the thread I made on it got locked :S )
Quit the party in 2021, now attempting to enter federal politics as Liberal Democrats

I think the major swing of a margin this large is the fury at the Morrison Government as the contributing factor, otherwise I think even with Labor winning, the majority would be very slim. Also, has the Federal LNP worked out their election candidates? If not when are they planning to get it arranged!?
This is an article about it back on February 3rd this year.

From what I gather and learned of Premier Marshall in general so far, I can respect his work and acknowledge what he has done for SA, and I am hopeful as Labor begins government in South Australia, they carry the gift of this many seat granted to them by the arrogance and spite of the Federal LNP.
3:44 Onwards from Premier Elect:
"I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the liberal party of Australia, The Liberal Party of Australia is an essential component of our Federation, it's an essential component of our democractic process. And I take this opportunity, this is important, I take this opportunity to acknowledge that the liberal party are not out enemies, they may be our adversaries, but they are not out enemies."

Of the many reflections I have in regards to Premier Marshall, I wished he was Prime Minister. For one, Premier Marshall's COVID handling was very effective, almost as effective as Premier Mark McGowan, it was a terrible shame he had to give in to Omicron.
The situation was created by the Federal LNP, there are many MPs State or Federal who should have been leading the nation during this time, and no doubt Premier Marshall is among them who should have been in place as Prime Minister instead of Morrison.
