I get lied about and called names like 'right wing nut job' - and that's okay with you - presumably because it's me that's being abused.

I don't give a damn any more, any insults or personal abuse are reported for mods to deal with. This is what David wanted and that's what I'm going to do.
You’re operating from the Putin playbook are you?

Sorry, I don’t know about right wing, but being proud of not being vaccinated does indeed make you a nut job.
Aaron
So it's perfectly okay for me to call you names then? Got it, Mister Mensa.

And I'm not 'proud' of not being vaccinated, I've hardly mentioned it at all on this board because it sends people off the deep end. Recall Mike a few months ago wishing that I'd die just because I didn't have the needles... people still - STILL - go crazy when you mention it.

What's your tolerance level for being called names then, Aaron?

Self-important toss-pot - does that get a report? Ignorant flog?
don_dunstan
It’s well above any level you could ever achieve.

With the exception of way back when RP used to get the phantom accounts spamming threads I don’t think I have ever reported a post - not quite sure you could make that claim.

Dunno about Mister, but I was at one stage a member, pretty sure you’d be one of those that turn up to take the test and spell their own name wrong - it’s happened more than once, mostly due to their perceptions of pressure, in your case, just your natural way in the world I would guess.

I don’t know about wishing you would die because you won’t have a needle, but I do hope that those who choose not to be vaccinated do not consume much time, or resources in our hospital system - take that whichever way you want to, I just want people out of hospital quickly.

Steve Marshall's priorities were all wrong.

He was all about spending stupid amounts of money on roads and stadiums, and hated rail and public transport.

Good riddance.
Then why didn’t the seats where rail was alleged to be ‘oh so important’ not go differently?
Aaron
Former Transport Minister Corey Wingard lost his seat via a huge swing against him.

Many Rural seats retained by Independents due to the failure of the Libs on rail and freight etc.

The ALP in other States should also note that Peter Malinauskas is a social conservative.  That also helps rather than hinders election chances for the ALP.  But Albo's mob in Canberra seems to want to bully them out of the party.

Time I have spent consuming medical resources with COVID19 = 0.

I'm curious to know if I have antibodies after getting sick for a day or so in January but otherwise I know for a fact that I've been exposed multiple times at work and yet I still haven't got it. Could be the action of the antibodies (if I have them) or maybe I'm just healthy and the virus didn't single me out.

I can't speak for others but in my case it was the right decision - one hundred percent.

It's a CHAT BOARD, its supposed to be for the free exchange of ideas and polite argument - and I agree with David Head, it should be free of name-calling and personal abuse just because you don't agree with someone over what they've said.

And yes, I'm going to keep reporting abuse where I see it.

You don’t speak for me, don’t you ever even try speaking for me; I don’t give a f*ck what I get called, never have, never will - recall how I said I had never reported a non spam post? How many times have you called me a name? A LOT MORE times than that!

I am one of a few that posts under their actual name, that you could be so ‘abused’ because someone might choose to parody a name that isn’t even yours is quite laughable. ‘Teacher, teacher, someone’s calling my fake online persona a fake name!’ - Toughen up princess.

Which brings us all the way back to (in the context of Railpage) we aren't allowed to flame each other any more and that's out of my hands anyway.

4 out of 10 things that you post are actually very informative and I agree with them, but then you tend to regress or something, I dunno what it is.....

That’s going to get reported, you just cannot go calling 60% of Don’s posts ‘crap’ - that’s ‘name calling’ and he won’t accept it! He’s Put in a lot of effort to make those posts ‘special’, you’re not allowed to call them what they are, that’s against the new rules - seemingly invented about two weeks ago.

I greatly admire Joe Biden for so many things. Some of which are his forward thinking on electric vehicles, renewable energy and strong support for universal health care to name a few. But you lampoon him and for those comments I tend to pity you because of your man love for Trump, and if I lived in the US I'd join the Democratic party and throw myself into the socially progressive side of politics.

But I don't ever feel a need to run to the mods because you lampoon Biden and/or accuse me of any number of wacky, off the planet accusations. Accuse me of being a Labor party supporter and I'll proudly wear that label.

This is a discussion board as you keep telling us...and so it is.

Those rules make conversation on this forum possible.

What gives you the right to flout those rules?  Would you go into David’s house and loudly defend your right to smeg on his carpet?

You come here because presumably you enjoy it. Be a good and respectful guest.

You can try to defend your supposed right to be a smeghead all you like, but on this board we have no such rights.

From what I can gather so far on the SA election. The following topics I find would come into play and issue for SA voters such as

- Ambulance Ramping
- Possibly the decision to reduce ICAC powers ( If I am correct in describing this )
- Allowing Omicron into the state during the final two weeks of 2021 - sadly the Queensland premier also gave in to this too

There have been protests by nurses and medical staff against the LNP of South Australia to their handling of the issues that are considered serious

However, I am not certain that it would have been enough for a change over of Government, let alone a margin this big going to Labor.

I believe what has attributed in large part is the conduct of the Federal LNP. If the Federal LNP were out of sight, out of mind, out of consideration of voters, I sure it would be neck and neck.

Despite all the shortcomings of Premier Marshall, and of course decisions he made and paths he chose, I am sure he did his best to balance out everything. However there are agendas and demands he was facing from lobbying.

I highlight a particular example where Gladys did not lock down for 10 days after the Delta outbreak from and unvaccinated limousine driver. Gladys did a good job because she contained Alpha without locking down in the Northern suburbs. But with Delta she fooled around either from hubris or overconfidence or, just as likely, she was being pressured by the Federal LNP. Morrison praised her for not doing lockdowns. Looking back on it, I think she may have been forced against the alarm bells. This meant either way, she lit the fire and turned NSW and Victoria into an inferno.

Every other state almost didn't have enough time to seal off the borders, including South Australia.

Premier Marshall wasted no time as soon as an unwitting Delta positive got off the plane and locked down next day.

Furthermore, he also had his Government issue directives for returning Olympians from Sydney Quarantine - to Quarantine again in SA Quarantine, despite Olympic Games officials reassuring them that only Sydney Quarantine would be enough.

Delta positive with insufficient populace vaccination is a nightmare turned into reality without exaggeration

Any wise, informed and serious medical advice the Premier follows as soon as he receives over lobbying against and refusing political agendas is also most respectful during the COVID Pandemic. It's not just following advice and blindly letting them have their way.

Sometimes there are differences, it, however requires rationale explanation and justification.

Unfortunately, Omicron got out in NSW so close to border opening dates and both Marshall and Palaszczuk unfortunately faced a mountain of pressure from people pushing on insistence for cross border travel given so many families hadn't seen each other for so long.

This meant Omicron was allowed to get loose into both of these states

Western Australia continues to be rewarded for the leadership of Premier Mark McGowan.

I remember back when the Prime Minister was Tony Abbott, he made a decision to knight Prince Phillip, a week away from the Queensland Election. Campbell Newman was the LNP Premier then, the Liberal Party of the state ended up seething in white hot anger at the brazen, idiotic foolishness of the move.

Queensland Premier Anastasia Palaszczuk just managed to win with an independent giving her support ( if I remember correctly )

.... It was also about the time I logged on first time to Railpage to joke about 3801.... ( better not elaborate anymore Lol, the thread I made on it got locked :S )

Quit the party in 2021, now attempting to enter federal politics as Liberal Democrats

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-08-08/campbell-newman-to-seek-federal-election-with-liberal-democrats/100360050

----------------

I think the major swing of a margin this large is the fury at the Morrison Government as the contributing factor, otherwise I think even with Labor winning, the majority would be very slim.

Also, has the Federal LNP worked out their election candidates? If not when are they planning to get it arranged!?

This is an article about it back on February 3rd this year.

https://www.smh.com.au/politics/federal/liberals-try-to-force-alex-hawke-to-clear-way-to-choose-election-candidates-20220203-p59tlp.html

From what I gather and learned of Premier Marshall in general so far, I can respect his work and acknowledge what he has done for SA, and I am hopeful as Labor begins government in South Australia, they carry the gift of this many seat granted to them by the arrogance and spite of the Federal LNP.

3:44 Onwards from Premier Elect:

"I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the liberal party of Australia, The Liberal Party of Australia is an essential component of our Federation, it's an essential component of our democractic process. And I take this opportunity, this is important, I take this opportunity to acknowledge that the liberal party are not out enemies, they may be our adversaries, but they are not out enemies."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZzAvdptHjI

Of the many reflections I have in regards to Premier Marshall, I wished he was Prime Minister. For one, Premier Marshall's COVID handling was very effective, almost as effective as Premier Mark McGowan, it was a terrible shame he had to give in to Omicron.

The situation was created by the Federal LNP, there are many MPs State or Federal who should have been leading the nation during this time, and no doubt Premier Marshall is among them who should have been in place as Prime Minister instead of Morrison.

It's telling that you consider an exhortation to:
  • follow the rules
  • respect the wishes of the owners of this forum, and
  • be civil to fellow users
to be an "accusation", and one that was made against you specifically.

My comments were not directed at you alone, but don't take any comfort from that.

I may not know everything that has gone on between you and Don, and I don't want to know either.  But I see how it plays out on these forums, and that's all I'm interested in.

You will note that I'm more than happy to participate in the cut and thrust here.  I enjoy it, as I don't take it that seriously.  I'm not put off by the abuse - it's a bit of a sport for me to respond to rudeness and bluster with (sometimes humiliating) facts and logic, with a sprinkle of (attempted) humour.

But I'm not too selfish to realise that not everyone is like that.  My concern is that the heat in these forums will deter many other people with potentially intelligent and interesting things to say.  Not everyone likes being exposed to potential abuse.

I would rather we cut out the abuse and welcome more people into the conversation.

I know exactly what I'm talking about.

How did you like his handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan? Some $80 billion worth of equipment left behind.
