Because of who I am, and going right back to the Whitlam Labor years I've never voted conservative. However notwithstanding Josh's not very conciliatory speech as he did not congratulate Mon Ryan on her win, the Libs really needed him to re build their party.

Now it's likely they will turn to the warmonger Dutton and head even further to the Right... a terrible outcome for democracy, but one the Murdoch News Ltd filth will likely hoist their petard on judging by its unashamed support for the dysfunctional Trump in the US.

Yes, the Frydenberg defeat was bitter sweet. Yes I was happy the Liberals got defeated but Frydenberg is a moderate. The last thing Australia needs is a Right Wing Culture wars muppet with nothing in the way of policy. I still haven't forgot Dutton's flame baiting about Sudanese migrants.

Thanks god Australian voters are more enlightened then those in the UK. I hope Grace Tame laughs in Morrison's face.

On Clive Palmer's adopted home turf of Qld, even the stoners have clobbered UAP in the Senate count.  Poor results in pre-poll and postal votes may yet push UAP below the 4.0% needed to get their deposit back for that race.

However, it looks like they have a chance of getting the 6th seat in Victoria (ALP & LIB two quotas each, Greens 1 quota) once preferences are allocated.

That Qld Senate results reflects badly on Qld. The joint must be full of stoners...

Sunny one day, stoned the next.

"The irony is that KK (not Kim Kardashian) probably had a better chance winning the seat of Mackellar.
ANR

When KK was parachuted in to fowler at the time i thought it was wrong but the people would probably go for it, 34000 still voted her

Thinking of it now, hindsight 20/20 of course, she should of stood in Bennelong still on the north side, her side instead of risking /losing Fowler the ALP would of definitely had Fowler and most likely Bennelong

Sam Rae (sounds like a prostitute's name) won hawke as expected and Steve McGhie state member better get this Melton Hospital up and running
  Carnot Minister for Railways

She only got 0.6% of the Senate vote in NSW:

She had a 14% swing against her - just because it was her. They should have picked her for Bennelong as you said, much closer to home and more likely to win it for Labor.

Im sure KK will end up back in the senate some way or another, she in my opinion is a good performer

The Liberal Party could yet finish with only three sets in greater Melbourne and none in Adelaide or Perth.

There will probably be a few parties pointing out to some of their hack senators the benefits of spending more time with the family:

Pauline Hanson for Malcolm Roberts.
Kristina Keneally for a NSW senator.
Josh Frydenberg for a NSW or Queensland senator.
Clive Palmer & Craig Kelly for ................................................ (still looking).
  8502 Assistant Commissioner

Can this be looked at as support for Daniel Andrews way of doing business or is it more a case of the Libs are too Sydney Centric?

Clive Palmer & Craig Kelly for ................................................ (still looking).

In the event they do win a seat, I’m sure that any attempt by Clive or Craig to do that will result in the number of UAP senators swiftly changing from one to zero and the establishment of a new (Insert Name) Network/Team/Alliance.

The constitutional procedures involved with Senate seats will not take into account Clive’s wish to make this one less of a failure than PUP was.

On the other hand Simon Holmes a'Courts money appears to have been extremely effective in getting a big slice of the vote AND some seats.

The reason why the Libs got smashed so bad, especially in WA, is because Morrison kept on hammering McGowan on his closed border policy for Covid, but what Scomo must realize in future is that, State Premier's must be allowed to run their own race when it comes to things like this, not be bullied by wannabes in Canberra! so if another Pandemic is to pop up (it could do in the future) they might play it differently.

Sorry, and thankful, scomo doesn’t need to realise anything whatsoever in that capacity any longer. He is irrelevant in the process.

Edit. The lazy pr1ck needs to update his twitter profile. You’re no longer prime minister.

Another example of too late too often.

Agreed, the Commonwealth had nothing whatsoever to do with those decisions.
  kitchgp Chief Commissioner

The Commonwealth initially backed Clive Palmer in his challenge to the WA closure.

And the WA electorate has conclusively passed judgment on that venture.
