Actually TR2100 i was just having a long hard think. I reckon ATN had plans to get all MKAs and renumber them in the 2130 numbers. Well you got 2110-2118 series(Z & ZA) 2120-2128 series (ZB) then for some reason jumped 2130 to 2140-2146 series(ZC) and i think that 2130-2138(all MKAs?) was to fill that gap. I think they was going to run with ZB and ZC locos.
I'm sure Stuart would know more about it.

2 are in South Africa on metre gauge i think
We have MKA4, 7 and 8 while Queensland have MKA1,2 and 3 i think.
So MKA5 and 6 are in South Africa.
BTW yes there is only 8 built.

2130-2138(all MKAs?)
*****
The trouble is that is there are nine numbers in the series 2130-2138 but only 8 MKAs.
I think the unit just became 2138 because it was MKA8 ?
[I assume - after all you would just take the letters M, K and A out of the number box and leave the 8 there . . .]
Whichever loco it is, this is a number series which will not be filled - at least not if PNT commences class numbers with the '0' - eg 2130.
So the Tasrail numbering system takes another weird turn . . .
MKA 5-6 are supposed to be in Senegal, which according to online info has a 906km metre gauge rail system.
They are hauling phosphate trains apparently- for a private operator.
In some ways they are odd candidates to go there as many of the Senegalese locos are Canadian GMs supplied as aid.
