I didn't think I was, until this morning I saw a new set with Connex livery heading down past east richmond. It was on the middle line, so probably heading in ringwood direction.

I used to see the 4D quite a bit in the morning, and a couple of months ago I saw the new sets (unpainted) at the Newport yard (I was on a williamstown train at the time). They look shorter and only 2 sets of doors per car which seemed like a step backwards to me, but i digress...

Basically what I'm confused about is: what are the sets over at newport, and what was this new set I saw this morning? It looked similar config to the Comengs, but a more sloping nose.

Can anyone help me?

yes i can help.

The one on the connex lines is the X'trapolis. They run every morning and on Tuesday Afternoons. The interior is very similar to a Comeng Refurb.

The ones at Newport near Williamstown are the Nexas's and they are M>Trains new ones which don't carry passengers yet.

Views expressed by me are strictly my own, not of my friends, employer, or anyone else, unless otherwise stated.
