does any one now the classifications of all the classes of compartment carriages.and does anyoe now if an ex L&W A class carriage servived

Is there anything such as a A class carriage? also if we was to give a list of all compartment carriages it would be pretty big.

Its a 3 compartment first class car. I dont now if any were converted to narrow gauge.

Well there probably not around now days.I think the oldest surviving carriage is either B2 at DRR or AB1 at TTM. If any has survive they would be picked up very quickly for preserviation

The January and February 1980, and February 1986 issues of ARHS Bulletin will tell you what you need to know.
Make up a 1 to 3 character string of A, B and D's and that would probably give a valid code for some vehicle (Even the odd L too).
