Seeing as how they're monochrome photos, it's understandable why their fluoro safety vests are difficult to make out Wink

They were better days back then. Have a smash. Clear out the engines, carriages and bodies, re-lay the track and have services going again by the afternoon. None of this investigation stuff and what not.

One does wonder if they have Track Awareness certification hahaha...

Whilst there was the occasional prang, there were alot more services run in those days as opposed to now, so its sort of understandable. Put more cars on the road and there will be more crashes. More trains on the tracks, more crashes. Maybe someone can prove me wrong, but I personally believe that the number of accidents varies in proportion to the number of services.

Maybe im wrong, but the photos do look good none the less!

WorkCover in reality have no authority over RailCorp.

Pardon?

WorkCover's main statutory functions are to administer the following legislation:

* Occupational Health and Safety Act 2000
* Workers Compensation Act 1987
* Workplace Injury Management and Workers Compensation Act 1998
* Dangerous Goods Act 1975
* Workers Compensation (Bush Fire, Emergency and Rescue Services) Act 1987
* Workers Compensation (Dust Diseases) Act 1942
* Sporting Injuries Insurance Act 1978
* Rural Workers Accommodation Act 1969
* regulations and codes of practice under these Acts.

No employer or employee in NSW is exempt from Workcover, including any government (including Consulates).

And I can assure Railcorp has a number of cases under investigation, which a lot will lead into fines. As of last year, I believe leading NSW Government Authorities including Railcorp had about $1m EACH of ouststanding fines ... held in red tape and appeals.
