Jamesc, do you have a problem with romanising 'Shan-Kou'?
It is Yamaguchi, not Yamakuchi. The 'g' is because of the voicing of the previous syllable. I know you don't do this in Chinese, but in Japanese they do.
Or do you spend so much of your time calling it "Shan-Kou" that you don't pay attention?
