G'day all
A relative from the US came to visit some months ago and brought a few packets of Reeses, which is a yank confectionary that's basically chocolate with peanut butter inside.
I became addicted to the stuff, finishing one packet in the course of 2hours! After depleting the whole stock, I began suffering withdrawals, hence my lacking abscenses on Railpage Australia™ and my failed ambition to be on the frontcover of a girl's magazine.
That was until yesterday, while walking between Sydney Central Plaza and QVB, I walked past this brand new shop, a confectionary store called "Sugar Fx". I was dragged in by their bright white and green and pink colours, bright lighting, loud music and the two very fine devine looking shop staff. Then I noticed on the shelves of US Candy..... a stack of REESE!! WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!1111111
Bought two packets of Peanut Butter cups, and as soon as I walked out the shop, finished both packets by the time I reached the escalator towards the QVB.
Returned there today, and bought a few more packets. Looks like I've become a regular customer when one of the girls asks as I walk in "Hey you, did you enjoy your Reese yesterday?". I had abit more time today to browse around, CANDY CANDY CANDY EVERYWHERE! The two girls there were very giggly and happy and high on something illicit substance. They were also talkative to myself and other customers about, very much like department store salespeople. I just couldn't resist with this nice sheila with an Irish Accent having a friendly chat with me about rocky roads. In the end, I bought a bag full of all this stuff, and then after leaving and halfway between there and QVB, I then snapped out of a daze and questioned why I even bought half that stuff. I got sucked in!
Btw, I've just got home, still have half the bag left in my uni bag, and am consuming some more Reese at present. This message was typed in 2 minutes.
Cheers

Sounds like a franchise we have in Melb - some called Sweet As, some Sweetness, etc.

WATCH OUT, you're in for it now.
I have watched a very dear friend (who incidentally posts on here as ChrisA, when he feels like it) get sucked in, the very same way.
The shop in Box Hill is similarly manned by angels in human form, aged approximately 17 and very quick to chat, laugh, welcome regular customers, etc.
And what's more insidious, they give DISCOUNTS to regular customers. ChrisA can rock up to the counter with $28 worth of stuff and pay $20.
Can you imagine spending that sort of money on lollies? And don't run away with the idea that he makes that last six months either - that's about a week's supply. The girls call him "Piglet" because he eats that much and never puts on weight. (You may notice his avatar shows exactly that.)
So Maikha, I warn you as a sincere friend, be extremely wary of these dens of vice. If they start discounting your purchases, resolve not to go in for a month. If they give you a nickname, flee from the place and never return.
...
How dare you say I just post this way because I'm jealous of the discounts?
Happy Gunzelling and remember, "Go by rail!"

You think Reese's are nice Mailha, when your relatives come back, ask them to bring some 'Mrs Sees' aside from the other boxes of chocolates. So nooooiiiiiiccccce those are.

Actually, it's not a franchise. Some of them used to be franchises, under what name I know not; but now there's Sweet As in Box Hill which is owned by a man who also owns a couple of others. But near enough.

Actually, the real key to getting good discounts is to pick your products. Get things that are near (or past) use-by date, with attendant discounts (as listed on the item - this is different from the "rock up to the counter" discounting), and/or buy by the case. For instance, White Toblerone, 3 for $2 - or buy a case for about 25% off.

Awww dot be sooo hard on yourself mjja, you benefit from the discounts too!
I get enough exercise just pushing my luck with bus timetables!
There's no place like 127.0.0.1.
