I think AusTrains must have changed their attitude. The only place you could get them off the shelf 3 years ago was Tom's in Canberra Confused

Toms in Sydney you mean Wink

Yeah it seems they are distrubting them to the majoirty of good resellers, which is good, but they are made in batches which is bad, but what can you do thats how most model trains are made.

Yes I know, I was just saying that they must have changed the number of shops that supply "off the shelf" Austrains products Smile

Occasionally as a 2nd hand, Austrain used to ban retail sell of their product apart from through Tom's model discount Warehouse. But now Austrain will supply models to any retail dealer across the country

Hey?..whatever happen to my warning level?

I think Austrains approach was based on the need to get a quick return on their capital and they were prepared to deal with shops that fitted their criterion. I allways thought that this system would work well with NSW models which could be sold through Toms two shops but it might break down with Victorian models.

The problem with Trainworld I guess is that they would be seen as a potential commercial rival to Toms and Austrains, although these days all Powerline seems to do is endless repaints and they show little sign of developing new models.

Does anyone know what NEW models Powerline are doing apart from re-releasing replaints of previously issued models.

They were supposed to be doing a NSW Endeavour/Explorer set, but that seems to have died a death.[/i][/b]
